Notes
2017 release. Midland intentionally nods to the wild west with country music reminiscent of the 1970s and '80s, channeling idols Dwight Yoakam and Willie Nelson, both legends whom they previously opened for on the road. Their 2016 self-titled debut EP was featured in Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly and Billboard and their music video earned them their first CMT Music Awards nomination for Group Video of the Year. On The Rocks is Midland's anticipated first full-length release on Big Machine Records.

    Excellent overall with moments of STUNNING glory.

    One of the best albums to come out in YEARS. 'Make A Little' and 'Drinkin' Problem' are great, but so are 'Lonely For You Only' and 'Electric Rodeo'. 'Electric Rodeo' especially is just STUNNING. Turn it up loud (of course) to get the full on feeling of this song; the longing deep inside; the being torn between staying on the road and staying home; the full, swelling of the orchestra just adds so much to it. We loved it so much, had to buy two so there was one in each of our trucks. LOVE IT.

    Midland Rocks!

    This album is a great blend of old and new country - the band puts a nice spin on classic country music - familiar stories but with updated rhythms and guitar leads and vocals. Caught them on Fallon and loved their style - wearing sorta kookie outfits but it totally works for them! Can’t wait for their follow up album!!!

    Country music the way it is supposed to sound!

    For all of you just waiting for someone to bring back traditional country music the way it's supposed to sound, your ship has just come in. These guys are the real deal. This is my new favorite group and I can't help but think that there will be more great country music from this group in the future.

    VERY GOOD music with a unique style or sound. thankful to find this as new Nashville stuff aint my style. this also has a little TEXAS sound which helps make this sound so good.

    One word for Midland Harmony! these boys can sing :)

    Midland is just a great way to relax, smooth Classic Country. packaged well, CD sounds clear and case was nicely made.
