?Moneyball is the best business book Lewis has written. It may be the best business book ?anyone;?has written., I understood about one in four words of ?Moneyball?, and it's still the best and most engrossing sports book I've read in years. If you know anything about baseball, you will enjoy it four times as much as I did, which means that you might explode., It's a sports story that's actually a business story that's also a story about preconceptions. Plus, Michael Lewis's writing is so clear, readable, and highly entertaining., Rarely has the lesson of a book...had such an enormous impact....[Moneyball] showcase[s] Lewis's great gift of finding the perfect characters and narratives to animate big, complex ideas that have been hiding in plain sight., The best book of the year, [?Moneyball?] already feels like the most influential book on sports ever written. If you're a baseball fan, ?Moneyball ?is a must., Lewis has hit another one out of the park...You need know absolutely nothing about baseball to appreciate the wit, snap, economy and incisiveness of [Lewis's] thoughts about it., Ebullient, invigorating.... Provides plenty of action, both numerical and athletic, on the field and in the draft-day war room., The best book of the year, [Moneyball] already feels like the most influential book on sports ever written. • Great Book. Will Read again.

A book I have waiting to read for a few years now, the recent release of the movie feature Brad Pitt finally got me to read the book prior to seeing the film. I was pleasantly surprised with ease the writer portrayed a story of statisticians and baseball managers alike. The book was an easy read and a great insiders look into the Old Boys Club mentality that has permeated baseball for over a century. A must read for baseball enthusiasts and your everyday reader as well.

  • Great book for baseball fans

I loved this book! Michael Lewis is a great business writer who gets the "story" out of successful or unique industries. The book is incredibly interesting because it explores how different baseball is from other businesses, as well as other professional sports. While it gives a lot of background and history, the information about current players and managers keep the book current. Moneyball provides a fresh look at the management of an old game, written in a very readable format.

  • Moneyball hits a home run

This is one of the best baseball books I've read in a long time. Even if you can't stand the Oakland A's like I do, it's still a wonderful story. It gives the average baseball fan a completely revolutionary perspective on the back room business of baseball. It answers the question of how a team with one of the lowest payrolls is capable of winning and keep winning year after year.

  • Outstanding for anyone who loves baseball—or biometrics. With a great story as well.

  • You can always learn something new

I have been watching, playing, and reading baseball for 50 years, and this is the one book I've read that made me really rethink the way I look at the game. Lewis may be a bit too uncritcal of Billy Beane and his methods, and I'm not sure everything Beane advocates really works, but it does make you think. And many of the principles can be applied to work and business beyond baseball.
