Fits my hand better than original grip
This grip fit my S&W 642 after I replaced the pin with the one provided with the grip. It was relatively easy to install but I did have a slight problem getting the screw to engage the nut inside. Once that was done the grip fit well in my hand. There is a slight gap at the top of the grip which I am not fond of but it doesn't appear to be a problem at this point. I can now grip the gun with 3 fingers instead of just two with the original. I haven't fired it yet but I'm sure it will improve handling. It also doesn't appear to add much weight to this little gun. Best upgrade for the money
Like I said, it's the cheapest upgrade you can do, and the results are well worth 30 bucks. Getting a 3 finger hold makes a big difference in control of these lightweight revolvers. Note that if you are ankle holster carrying, it will print more with a longer grip. Also, make sure you are buying the correct number grip for your firearm,Google it go to the hogue website, or message your seller. Just because it saids s&w j frame doesn't mean it fits them all.Like I said, it's the cheapest upgrade you can do, and the results are well worth 30 bucks. My new favorite grips for my 638 Airweight!
This is the second set of additional grips I have gotten for this gun, and are by far, my favorite! They extend downward and allow your pinky to fully wrap around them for an extra firm grip, which is very necessary as this gun kicks like a mule. When I pocket carry with them on the grip does stick out slightly but the extra control over the gun is well worth it. Finally, this grip provides a decent chuck of material between the web of your hand and the metal frame, unlike my other grips. It still hurts to shoot after a while but it makes it so much better. Feels Great
This feels great in the hand. It makes my S&W 642 more controllable and it points right at the target. It is not as easy to “Pocket Carry” as the factory grips, but the trade off is worth it. It is possible with pockets that are deeper than average. FYI: I purchased the speed strips and IWB Holster on eBay.

I purchase Hogue grips for all my High recoiling guns, Way better than wood grips if you Shoot your guns, If you don't shoot wood is prettier
High Quality products that does what is intended to do, provide a secure and comfortable grip and reduce recoil,,,,I have tried others but Hogue fits my hand better...Wood is prettier if you don't shoot your guns...But I do !
