Good Read
The book was a good read but a little different than I thought. The book covers a short time period right before Episode 1 and the blockade of Naboo. The book does not elaborate too much on Darth Maul's backstory. Other than the disappointment of not learning Mauls' beginnings it is a good story. The story follows Maul on a mission to eliminate any leaks of his masters plan (Palpatine)to blockade Naboo and start a war. You learn why Maul is called Shadow Hunter.The book was a good read but a little different than I thought. The book covers a short time period right before Episode 1 and the blockade of Naboo. Worth the read
This novel takes place before episode 1. I liked this book because you get to know more about Darth Maul and how bad ace he was.This book is also a must if you are going to read the three book coruscant nights saga.

An Average Book that leads into Episode 1
Michael Reaves' book Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter is a hardcover book that was released by Del Rey books in 2001. Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter follows the story of Darth Maul on the hunt to stem the flow of information. A Neidomodean who is part of Nute Gunray's personal staff decides to skip out and sell information about the impending blockade of Naboo. Darth Sidious decides to send Maul on the hunt for this traitor to their cause. Along the way the information seems to be passed along and Maul must go on a hunt to kill all that have knowledge of the blockade. The book is decent that it accomplishes the main goal of showing another side of Maul. You learn that he is more then just a monster as shown in Episode 1 and that he can think! It was almost like we need a monster here, let's try inventing this! *blah* The entire Obi-Wan appearance is basically there so that you can see another recognizable character from the movies. Useless waste as he just goes wandering around "looking" at the aftermath of Maul's chase. Hardcore fans will enjoy this book, but if you decide to skip it you will not miss anything. 3/5 Latsyrhc Tamarack Collectibles
