Product Information

In adapting Barry Gifford's colorful novel, David Lynch delivers another jolt of adrenaline to unsuspecting viewers everywhere. WILD AT HEART follows the troubled romance of Sailor (Nicolas Cage) and Lula (Laura Dern), two lovers who struggle to remain together even when fate seems intent on keeping them apart. In this case, fate is Lula's mother, Marietta Fortune (Diane Ladd), a desperate woman who hates Sailor and will do anything to keep him away from her daughter. After Sailor is released from prison for murdering a man--albeit in self-defense--he and Lula embark on a sex-filled, rocking road trip, aware that they are being hunted by one of Marietta's cronies. When they pull off the road in order to hide out in a small trailer park, Sailor befriends Bobby Peru (Willem Dafoe), an incredibly intense war veteran with a rotten set of teeth. Bobby convinces Sailor to help him rob a bank, much to Lula's objections (for she has discovered that she is pregnant). Sailor must decide if he wants to go straight and be there for his child or remain under Bobby's influence and risk returning to jail. Lynch's raucous film contains his trademark visual style, over-the-top dialogue, and pulsating soundtrack, creating another truly distinct picture.

Director and cast well-matched in their ability to...escalate quickly.
It may not be Lynch's finest work, nor Cage's, but the area under the curve is immense.

A psychotic over possessive maniacal witch of a mother cant stand the true prevailing love between her Fragile daughter Lula and Her Wild Goodhearted Bad Boy Boyfriend Sailor. Their love withstands the evil that seems to lie before them at every turn. Nothing can come between them. Their lovemaking is intensely sensual and electrifying. When they are together they are unquestionably ‘somewhere over the rainbow. The villains are evil in its purest form. Santos (J.E.Freeman) is the off centered mobster lover of Lula’s Mother Marietta Whom together plot and scheme to destroy everyone around them. Sexually aroused at the build up to the kill She enjoys the hit entirely too much. This movie will pull you in hoping Lula and Sailor’s Love will survive the horrors set before them. It is off beat and thrilling. Nicolas Cage (Sailor) is a force to be reckoned his presence on screen is intense and very sexual. Laura Dern (Lula) presents wonderful innocence to her character. A victim that only desires her true love, and the end of her rainbow. Every actor in this film is gloriously intense and gives 110% to the roles they play. This is definitely a pulp classic. David lynch is as usual a wonderfully imagined Director that leaves no detail as a trivial option. Every scène is meticulously under the scrutiny of David and by his standards Must be perfect! He pulls off his insatiable directing perfection in Wild at Heart Flawlessly. This is an intensely sexual violent Wild at heart Ride of a lifetime!

Once you see the special edition, you can not go back!
I like this BETTER than 'Fire Walk With Me", "The Straight Story", "Lost Highway", "Dune", "The Elephant Man", "Inland Empire", "Eraserhead' The films that I prefer over 'Wild At Heart' are Mulholland Drive, and "Blue Velvet" which are probably two of the best films in films in American film history. I feel like this film is his most underrated film, and this Special Edition finally gives it some true justice! I like this BETTER than 'Fire Walk With Me", "The Straight Story", "Lost Highway", "Dune", "The Elephant Man", "Inland Empire", "Eraserhead' The films that I prefer over 'Wild At Heart' are Mulholland Drive, and "Blue Velvet" which are probably two of the best films in films in American film history. I feel like this film is his most underrated film, and this Special Edition finally gives it some true justice!

David Lynch strikes again!
If you are a David Lynch Fan like me, just try to imagine a... relatively normal film from this man. Don't try too hard, that's OK. Well, this is as close as you're going to get. Lynch knows it, and he peppers Wild At Heart with just enough OFF THE WALL BIZARRE touches and diversions to stomp out any slight glimmer of mainstream melodrama. For the longtime Lynch fan, get this film and complete your weird little collection of disks. For the uninitiated, get this film for a good start down the dark path of lunacy that is Lynch.If you are a David Lynch Fan like me, just try to imagine a... relatively normal film from this man.
