Product Information

After 2002's PANIC ROOM, Jodie Foster took a three year break before deciding to take another leading role in a major motion picture. Three years is a lifetime in Hollywood, but Foster is one of the few stars who can afford to take such a lengthy hiatus from the industry and still command major roles on her return. Robert Schwentke's FLIGHTPLAN is the movie Foster chose as her comeback vehicle; playing the recently widowed Kyle Pratt, she sticks close to PANIC ROOM territory, delving further into fear and isolation as her character boards an airplane to escort her dead husband's body from Berlin to New York. Kyle brings her young daughter Julia (Marlene Lawston) on the plane with her, and they fly on a craft that was designed by the grieving widow during her tragic tenure in Berlin. But after a short in-flight nap, Kyle awakes to find Julia has disappeared. Her frantic search leads nowhere, and it seems no one on the plane can remember Kyle's daughter boarding the plane. An air marshal named Carson (Peter Sarsgaard) and the pilot of the plane, Captain Rich (Sean Bean), methodically ask Kyle some questions to determine where Julia could be, but she fails to produce any concrete evidence, not even a boarding pass. At this point, Kyle begins to doubt her own sanity, and Schwentke steers the movie through some surprising plot twists as his lead character teeters on the brink of madness. The second half of the movie drops the Hitchcockian intrigue (FLIGHTPLAN owes a sizeable debt to Hitchcock's 1938 thriller THE LADY VANISHES) and settles into a more straightforward action film, but Foster shines throughout. Credit is also due to cinematographer Florian Ballhaus, who unnervingly conjures up a palpable feeling of claustrophobia as the high-tech airplane endures a rocky journey through the skies.

movie has twists & turns,not Fosters' best is well done
Jodie Foster gives an excellent performance in this psychological/action thriller. She is flying to the U.S.A. from Europe in a jet (a magnificent one) she helped to design, bringing home the body of a loved one. All of the crew and passengers do not believe she brought her daughter onboard or even if she exists at all. Fosters character fights to make anyone believe her, and even when the think she is mentally ill, the passengers are cruel to her. Sad commentary on how people can be in a tense situation. This is a good movie for older children since it is rated PG13. It does have language issues if that is problem. The movie is very smooth and great entertainment value. It has suspense and good acting. Jodie Foster plays an airliner tech that helped design the latest airbus airplane that some people use her and her family as bait for a hijacking episode within the story. She finds out about it. The bad guys kidnapped her daughter and that is the premise of the story and hide her on the plane. The airmarshall that is on the plane is actually in on the hijacking but Jodie Foster does not realize it until the almost the end of the movie. I know I'am not that crazy
If you think 'suspense' means watching Jodie Foster frantically run up and down aisles and open doors for 2/3 of the movie, then this thriller is for you. Add a few ridiculous plot twists and you have a pretty good summation of "Flight Plan." How anyone can find this movie believable is mind boggling, and when I say believable, I don't mean the usual 'suspension of disbelief' required for certain movies. I'm talking about logic, pure and simple. Yes, you will question Jodie's sanity, and yes, you will question the crew's claims that her daughter was never on the plane. If the movie could deliver on just that, you might walk away satisfied. But it can't possibly deliver, because the plot is so poorly constructed and illogical that you ... I don't even usually write movie reviews, but this one was so bad that I felt a MORAL OBLIGATION to steer people away from this horrible, horrible movie.

I wanted it. Price was right. For heavens sake, what kinda idiots do you have buying from you that such as this has to be asked. And----you make it too darn difficult to write a review and in the future I just may ignore your emails for reviewing. Life is short!!!! Your stuff take too much time. Thank God I am a fast typer with great hand to eye coordination. I typed this in MUCH less time than it took to sign in to youall (southern, get it?).I wanted it. Price was right. For heavens sake, what kinda idiots do you have buying from you that such as this has to be asked. Excellent movie, great price!!!
I saw this movie in the movie theatre when it first came out and bought a copy of it on DVD just to have for my personal collection to view whenever I wanted to. The suspense is enthralling and Jodie does an excellent job portraying a distraught widow/mother who has just lost her husband and is not willing to lose her daughter without putting up a good fight, regardless of what people around her think of her. I also own "The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane" and "Hotel New Hampshire" on DVD and "Bactrack" on VHS. I want to see "Little Man Tate", as well as the rest of her pictures that I have not yet seen. She is an amazing actress.
