1991 NFL Pro Set Card Book w/ cards is a GREAT resource
What an outstanding resource for collectors of football cards, specifically Pro Set football cards from 1989 to 1991! It has a front and back full-color photo of EVERY card Pro Set produced from 1989 to 1991, and a foreword which talks extensively about Pro Set itself, and most of the major card variations for each year. Unfortunately, it does not contain 1991 Series 2, but this book is well worth buying. Included inside the book are 9 Cinderella Story cards featuring great football Cinderella stories such as the 1968 New York Jets, and the 1981 San Francisco 49ers. These cards are perforated, so it takes a little bit of work to get them "ripped" out, but they are nice additions to any set, team, or player collection. I would assume there are very few of these cards floating around ... What an outstanding resource for collectors of football cards, specifically Pro Set football cards from 1989 to 1991! A great trip down football card lane. I highly recommend!
While there is a plethora of baseball card books, there are not many books on football cards other than price guides. This is one of the few. I came of age in the collecting era right when Pro Set came out with it's first set of football cards. It may be easy to laugh at Pro Set now because of overproduction but thier cards are what kids and adults collected back then. This book does a great job of going over Pro Set's history up to 1991. This was a walk down memory lane. It has great color photgraphs of front and back of every card put out up till then. For me it was a nostalgic walk down memory lane. I also liked the introduction that walks you through the history of Pro Set. Although the authro strays at times into the many errors and variations overall he does a nice job. I wish ...
