The Most Beautiful Children's Book to Ever Exist.
When I was 8, in 1978, my older sister, who was 18 and away at college, sent this book to me as a present. The illustrations were rich and captivating. I was quite a reader at age 8 and I was happily challenged by some of the new words that this book introduced to me. I was also a bug and insect lover when I was 8. This book brought me joy in so many ways! When I grew up, I tried to order this book for my own young daughters who are now 4 and 7, and I learned that it is out of print. I looked for it for a couple of years but could never find a copy that was in decent condition. Finally, I found it on E-bay from these wonderful sellers. My daughters, bug and insect lovers, just like I was, are just as enthralled with the book as I was (and still am). This is a special book ... Although my original copy had disappeared, I never forgot about it. This is one of those books that stays with you when you're young, and becomes part of who you are, and who you are to become. To this day, I think about small living creatures with a certain magical feeling inside me, that I might not have had if I had never had the chance to experience this book. I have owned the double LP set since it first came out in the 70's, then I saw there was a book to go with it in the 80's but was never able to find it until last month on ebay 6-06. I was excite as a little girl waiting to get it in the mail. I had to go find a record player to play the album again and read along with the book. If you don't have the album and only have the book or visa versa, you MUST get both!! I ordered the LP on cd and it was NOT the same AT ALL! BEWARE of what you are getting...it was advertized as "digitally remastered" which means it is an exact copy but just put onto CD... I was so disgusted with the cut of the CD that I couldn't even stand to listen to the rest. I put it back in it's packaging and sent it back that same day. By the way, I got the CD from ... I had to find an old used record player so I could listen to my albums again..It took me back 30 years listening to it...I don't know of any one else, except for my kids, who has ever heard it before...They remember it so well too !! It makes them think of when they were young kids when they would hear me playing it all the time. I am just so glad I never threw the album out or ever gave it away..though I would NEVER have done either. I LOVE the book and am SO glad I found it on ebay, bid on it and I WON !! I was the ONLY one to bid on it too..LUCKY ME !! The lady I bought the book from was SO kind and emailed me to answer all my Q's about the book and I got it way sooner than I expected, like Christmas in the mail box!!

Love is all...
This is such a great book, really unique poems and absolutely beautiful artwork. This is the American reprint but no real difference between it and the original British publication aside from publishing info. Learn the history, read the book and check out the live concert with David Glover, Ian Paice, Eddie Harden, David Coverdale, Vincent Price and many more, well worth it!
