He spent twelve years in research and many months in France doing archival work and then made several attempts until he felt he finally had the story he wanted to tell. Fabulous book about how beavers restore habitat. Combines scientific knowledge with human interest stories about some of the key players who have championed returning beavers to the wild to manage flooding and drought while bringing back wildlife. I enjoyed it tremendously.
