À propos de ce produit

Product Information

With a 1992 release, Soul Blazer is one of the earliest SNES action role-playing games on the console. The game is published by Enix. As such, the stories share a number of similarities. In this SNES game, the land is under attack by the forces of darkness. The guardian of the world, a being called The Master, sends you to vanquish evil on his behalf. This Super Nintendo game will take completionists almost 20 hours to beat. This title was developed by Quintet and is the first title in the Soul Blazer trilogy. This title was followed up by the Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma games. At first glance, Soul Blazer has a lot in common with other action RPGs. The title uses a top-down viewpoint, letting you see all of the action on the screen at one time. Your character's primary weapon is a sword, though later you will learn some magic attacks. Combat against your enemies relies on fast reflexes and pattern memorization. You will need to dodge out of the way of enemy attacks and strike when you see an opening. As you progress in your adventure, you will find better weapons and armor. However, you will still need to be careful as your enemies gain in strength when you do.Soul Blazer stands out from other RPGs due to how the game starts. In a typical role-playing game, you start in town and work your way to a dungeon. In this title, the first town you encounter is empty, requiring you to defeat a dungeon first. The evil demon Deathtoll has placed the souls of the villagers into lairs dotted across the landscape. Each layer you defeat will release one soul back into the world. Only by defeating each dungeon will you be able to repopulate the world. You will want to seek out every hidden dungeon because each villager could contain a way to power up your character. This RPG features six total worlds to visit along with a final stage. Each world features its own color palette and style. The Grass Valley is a calming land full of greens and blues. The Magridd Castle, on the other hand, is a terrifying place full of dull colors. Each world is full of life and detail such as clouds passing by overhead and grass swaying in the wind. The sprites of the monsters are also detailed with boss creatures typically taking up the whole screen. This RPG features some inventive character designs that would later reappear in other games in this series. The music in this title is composed by Yukihide Takekawa. Each track takes advantage of the Super Nintendo's sound chip in ways that were not thought possible in 1992.Soul Blazer is in action RPG that paved the way for the genre. It combines an interesting plot with fast-paced gameplay. The controls are tight and responsive, and the main character does exactly what you want. If you are in the mood to play a classic Nintendo title from Japan, this is the one for you.

  • A not so hidden gem.

I'm not sure there is a such thing as a hidden gem anymore. But this game is one that many missed out on back in the day. Even now if you look at a video of someone playing it you'll see that you have better looking games on your cell phone. And the game play looks like it is about as basic as it gets... But even with that being said there is something that draws you into this game. There's not much of a story, but the more you play the more you unlock of the world and the deeper you go into the dungeons. It's somehow so simple and so addictive. This game is going for a pretty penny these days, but I highly recommend it!

  • Soul Blazer

Designed by Quintet, a quality dungeon crawler with creativity and sensible design. You play the role of a hero who can slash with his sword or cast a few magic spells. Dungeon design is interesting throughout, with a good variety of twists and turns and changing environment type. The story, while not perfectly translated, features more interesting characters than your average dungeon crawler. Unlike most dungeon crawlers, you open up town and dungeon areas by killing monsters in the dungeon. This makes visiting large towns less overwhelming, as you see more of the town piece by piece instead of walking in to a massive town. Also, 90% of the monsters stay dead when you revisit the dungeons, letting you focus on finding missed routes. Good controls and decent graphics and music round out a ...

  • One of the best action rpgs ever!

I've played through this game more than 20 times over the years and I still love it now as much as I did years ago when it was first released for the Super Nintendo system. It takes the traditional action rpg and molds it together with some of the ideas found in the earlier Enix SNES game Actraiser. As you defeat groups of enemies you are basically releasing trapped souls of people. When you release these souls, they are then available to help you out on your quest. When you first arrive in a new area, you'll notice that there's not any people or houses around. This is where the fun begins as you get to start fighting enemies and releasing the people of an area. Then the peices of the puzzle begin to fall into place. The game features outstanding control and an easy enough challenge that ...

  • Soul Blazer is hard to find

This is a game that i enjoyed as a child. I must have been searching for 2 year's before i ran across it on e-bay. To start you are sent down to earth by a god to help free various plant's,animal's,and human's.And most importaint of all freeing the inventor Dr.leo. They have all been captured by an evil monster and have been trapped in what are called monster den's. the gameplay is great. the game allow's you to find certin magical item's,armor and weapon's. Also there are many puzzel's through out the game. But nothing to difficult. The soundtrack is also very good. There is not really anything i could say bad about this game. I wish they would remake this title for a more powerful system. If you love game's that involve swordplay, magic and lot's of fantasy then this title is worth ...

  • A great Super Nintendo Action/RPG

This is the first of the "Soul Blazer Trilogy," along with Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma. Outside of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the Soul Blazer Trilogy are the best Action/Rpgs you will find on the Super Nintendo. The story, gameplay, and music are all outstanding in this game. If you enjoy the Zelda games, you definitely want to give Soul Blazer a shot. The mechanics of the gameplay are a little different, but the experience will be almost identical, a great time will be had with this game. Quintet, the developer of the Soul Blazer Trilogy, and Enix, the publisher, had a great run of games in the early-mid 90s together. Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, ActRaiser, ActRaiser 2, and Robotrek. All those games are amazing and worth checking out.
