Bad Company takes the open-level play of the online, multiplayer-oriented Battlefield games and makes it more personal -- and more profitable. In a relatively extensive single-player campaign, gamers take the role of a renegade soldier in the near-future, who joins three of his brothers-in-arms to go AWOL in search of personal fame and fortune. A variety of land, air, and sea craft become available during their adventures, along with an arsenal of powerful weaponry. As seems to be common among modern mercenary video game heroes out for profit, the soldiers of Bad Company have an appetite for destruction. The game features destructible environments, which become part of the gameplay. Buildings, barriers, and the earth itself can be disrupted with the right firepower and players are encouraged to use their ability to alter the battlefield in order to complete mission objectives. In addition to the single-player modes, Battlefield: Bad Company features online play with support for 24 players. Along with established Battlefield multiplayer game types, Bad Company offers a "Gold Rush" mode, in which teams take turns at offensive and defensive roles in destructible, re-shapeable battlefields. The game is the first to run on EA DICE's "Frostbite" game engine, designed for destructible 3D action in high-definition. EA's initial release of Bad Company is available in two packages: a regular edition and a "Gold Edition." The Gold Edition includes a poster, behind the scenes documentary, and multiplayer strategy videos. Additionally, there are five bonus weapons available in multiplayer games that regular edition owners will not have access to until they reach the top rank.

More addicting than Call of Duty 4
This Gold Edition provides you automatically with 5 additional weapons, 1 per soldier class. In retrospect, I would not buy the Gold Edition again. Except for the AN94 Assault Rifle and MG3 Light Machine Gun, these weapons are not that great. Unlocking the Uzi with the code - cov3r1ngthecorn3r -, M60 - try4ndrunf0rcov3r -, and QBU88 - your3mynextt4rget - will provide much better weapons. Online multiplayer action with the Dice's FROSTBITE ENGINE is incredible! Blowing holes through walls, C4 kills, Laser tagging targets, Anti-tank mines, and a Dog Tag collection system for Knife Kills are huge additions to gameplay. Unfortunately, most online players do not function as part of a squad, which is essential to winning a round. If you find players that do, add them to your friends list to ... Battlefield bad company best online ever
It's unfortunate that DICE spent so much time crafting this game to be different than other Battlefield games, i.e. have a plot, only for it to be just like all the other Battlefield games, a AAA world class multiplayer with a boring single player. And it's not that the plot is that weak, it's just there have been so many more compelling or innovative single players games available lately. Dead space, Assassins creed, Silent hill homcoming, MGS4. random yes 7.0 Presentation I have to give this a 7 just because of the crappy 'Gold Edition' POS cardboard box this game comes in. I ruined the back of mine trying to get the seal off. 8.7 Graphics The graphics are nice. Nothing spectacular but the engine does a good job considering how much is going on in the game. 8.7 Sound The sound is ... Considering the four d-pad buttons arent really used theres no need of this. And where are all the scopes? Guns need to be customizable. 10.0 Lasting Appeal This a tale of two games. On the one hand there a boring single player. Stupid AI + near infinite life is something only a child could like. On the otherhand the mulitplayer is near perfection. 9.5 OVERALL (out of 10)

Great FPS with awesome gameplay and graphics, online also great
This is a fps game with the realism of weapon control and the ability to destroy buildings. Unlike previous fps games this is the start of a good series from ea and with the software engine by dice makes it seem so real. I play the bad company series and they just keep getting better. The ability to unlock new weapons and play online against others gamers is also great. You can drive tanks,jeeps, humvees and assorted other vehicles. Even if you already play the battlefield bad company games this one just helps to learn the story behind it and in campaign mode I find myself laughing at some of the chatter going on with your swayed members. I get lost in this game for hours of fun and I don't mean it in a bad way. If you like the Battlefield series.., this game will not dissapoint you one bit. This game is EXTREMELY addictive !!! I'd say nearly 90% of everything and anything in the game can be destroyed or blown-up !!! It is like a cross between GTA III and C.O.D. You can steal tanks, gunnery's, Heli's, you name it. The objects of the game is to complete the missions, collect the gold, collect the collectables, and survive to hear the Seargent raise hell at you another day !! And I must say, at the beginning.., the rants of the fellow team in the game is extremely funny at first.., but they do get old really quick. Other than that.., This game will keep you up late,late,LATE at night either shooting the bad guys or laughing you ass off !!. 9.0 out of 10 Stars on this game. It a Must Have !! Battlefield:Gold Edition. Great way to past time online
I like this version particulary because of the exclusive weapons that already come in this package. It may be a bit of an advantage over the regular edition but I think it helps to keep the playing field more competitive (especially in online play). I seriosly recommend those who are seriously into the team, co-operative online FPS to try this game. The visuals are very impressive and the sound are particulary crisp and clear.
