Hailing more from the pulp-melancholic spirit of CBS's 1978-1982 Hulk television series than its 2003 predecessor did, THE INCREDIBLE HULK wordlessly tells the entire gamma ray-afflicted origin story of scientist Bruce Banner's alter-ego within its first three minutes. This credit sequence in particular evokes (albeit with some cinematic weight) the lo-fi, premise-informing quality that one would find at the onset every episode of a cultish TV show, thus making two things quite clear. First, the Edward Norton-starring INCREDIBLE HULK is not a sequel to or a remake of Ang Lee's HULK, but a reboot equipped with an alternate plot, a new dynamic, and a different set of rules. Second, it is director Louis Leterrier's (UNLEASHED, THE TRANSPORTER) express intention to deliver a tightly wound, economically paced thriller in which scenes of drama and action are not mutually exclusive. THE INCREDIBLE HULK replaces cerebral family drama with the story of a lonely, afflicted scientist who, at the start of the movie, is already in hiding, training his mind-body dichotomy. As for the Hulk that inevitably comes forth, a previously poetic weightlessness is rejected in favor of gargantuan physicality, and this time there's an equal behemoth for the not-so-jolly green giant to battle. It's akin to seeing the huge robots of TRANSFORMERS face off, only with more muscle and bone. The angst, of course, isn't gone from this incarnation--not if Norton's intelligently passionate Banner and his tender, forbidden relationship with Dr. Elizabeth Ross (Liv Tyler) have anything to say about it. It's simply that this Hulk always smashes before he ponders.Rounding out THE INCREDIBLE HULK's main players are William Hurt as General Ross and Tim Roth as marine Emil Blonsky, two men in pursuit of the Hulk who, like Banner, aren't so much evil as consumed by tragic character flaws.

    Once, A Film That Catches You By Surprise & Satisfies.

    While most film remakes tend to be predictable, this film was a surprising breath of fresh "Movie Air". Wow. Edward Norton as Dr. Bruce Banner was extremely impressive and teaches us that artistic creation does matter. I wouldn't have missed this at all in theaters, however, I might have had something going on at that present time that caused me to miss the initial introduction in theaters. After over a year after its release, I finally caught this on video. Thanks to the wondrous world of Ebay, I finally caught this last evening. While more than over the top, we find our buddy that we always loved Lou Ferrigno in a small part as a security guard. The U.K. Born Tim Roth is totally awesome in his role.     Monstrously Entertaining

    For those that know only of the original comic book Hulk, the TV series Hulk, or the regrettable Ang Lee Hulk, you should know that this new version is a mixture of origins. Without spoiling it, one of the larger ingredients in this new Hulk comes from a Marvel series that is an alternate universe. There are many differences in the Ultimates Universe. In this version, Banner did not get his gamma radiation from exposure during an experimental bomb explosion. I won't spoil it, but you can go to www.marvel.com and look under "Ultimates" if you wish to get the gist of it. I can truly say that this version captures a little of everything, so that no matter what your knowledge is of the Hulk character, there's tie-ins to everything.     Loved: THE INCREDIBLE HULK!

    We love this version of THE INCREDIBLE HULK. And with the heroic part he played in The Avengers, my son would not stop asking me to get it for our collection. We all know the story: Dr. David Banner, is being hunted by General Thaddeus (Thunderbolt Ross), the father of Betty Ross; Dr. Banner's love. But the reason why the general is hunting David is because he thinks his body belongs to The Army, and he has plans to use it for his own diabolical scheme. Meanwhile, Dr. Banner has been laying low and wants to be rid of The Hulk, so he's trying to find Mr. Blue, who is going to make that a reality. But before that happens, Dr. Banner bust out at the seams, has to protect the one he loves and the innocent from a new threat - The Abomination. We absolutely love this movie because it has a ...

    I would recommend The Incredible Hulk for you and your family,it's Awesome!

    I thought this movie was excellent. The casting was perfect. It had a lot of the same characteristics of the original Incredible Hulk of tv. I like that they included a short bit with Lou Ferrigno from the original tv series in this.There was a lot of great action and suspense in this but yet they were able to keep it light-hearted in some spots to make it so a wider range of audience would enjoy it. It was also able to tie into a future movie so as to not end it without the possibility of more to see. I would recommend this for almost anyone to enjoy.The very young children may or may not understand the story line but they along with anyone else watching would be fascinated by all the action scenes. This movie in my opinion deserves 5 stars and then some. I would be a great way to spend ...

    A Marvellous Live-Action Movie

    Watch out, because when Bruce turns into that giant green creature called Hulk, no one can stop him. This is just another MARVELLOUS (get it?) movie that, together with Ironman, could be the one of the greatest action movies of 2008 in every sense. Incredible scenes, very well produced. Basically, the story is about a guy (Bruce, played by Edward Norton) who have suffered a kind of genetic mutation due to a frustrated experience with gamma radiation and is striving to keep himself away from being angry, otherwise he can turn into a diabolic monster who crashes everything and everyone on his way, except his longtime lover (Betsy, played by Liv Tyler). The end of the movie strongly suggests that there will be a sequel soon to be seen, possibly for the next year. Let's wait and see.
