Notes
2010 album from the Welsh Hard Rockers. Fever pairs Bullet for My Valentine with producer Don Gilmore, best known for his work with Linkin Park and Good Charlotte. The band recorded Fever in studios both in it's native Wales and in Los Angeles. This album follows 2008's Scream Aim Fire, which debuted at #4 on Billboard 200, a career high for the group, whom Kerrang! Named Best British Band in both 2008 and 2009.

  • A great new cd to kick off their tour

4 very easy stars, this is now the best release by Bullet For My Valentine. I think that it is excellent when a band releases such a strong studio performance like this right before they kick off a tour. April 30th, 2010 is just days away from me writing this review and we will all get to hear this great new material performed live (I'll see them in Columbus, OH. near my home). The songs on this new release have demonstrated the bands 12 year evolution now, this is more of the same (strong guitars, vocals) and I figure just like all their past material this one will sell strongly and continue to add to the bands catalog of unique metalcore credit. This isn't your dad's heavy metal, no its much more, this is music that reaches out and screams modern metal while ...

  • Wow, excellent!

I really like The Poison, their debut album. It was a promising start with agressive riffing and scorching melodies. Scream Aim Fire, their second albun, was a bit more aggressive, still with good songs, but I was disappointed and, for me, it was far less interesting than The Poison. As if they wanted to prove something (being more metal) that they did not need to. Now, with this 3rd effort: Wow! Great blend between the 2 efforts!! Excellent improvement and by far their best record. If this one does not confirm their status and personnality as one of the best metal acts in the world, I do not know what it takes. Huge riffing, effectivement lines and melodies and mix of hard, fast, slow and loud songs. Great pacing and, for me, there are no boring songs in there, which is ...

  • Top 3 current best heavy metal band.

Title only an opinion. However, I changed the stereo system in my vehicle so I could better hear this album. Bullet doesnt hold back here, and as good as they were from the beginning, they are getting better. Ranks right there with Poison. Songs like "Alone" and "Pretty on the Outside" will help you forget any past heartaches, as this band can motivate anyone scorned to move on. Definitely a number 1 on the list if you hit the gym, as Fever is filled with adreniline pumping song after song. 2 or so ballads help keep the the album mainstreem enough that these guys can make some money, but overall a heavy metal dream. I would recommend this album 100% retail price, but if you can find a deal from a trusted seller (very near or more preferably at 100%), I would jump ...

  • Third time's a charm? It was in this case.

When Bullet For My Valentine released Fever, I was a bit pretty eager to hear how it was going to sound. The band's debut album was a great album, and their second wasn't far behind, but the vocals on the second album were slightly below par when stacked next to the first album. So I listened to Fever and put to rest any doubt in Matt Tuck's vocal ability. Not only did he step it up from the last album, he topped the vocals from the debut album as well. The songwriting was superb, the instrument performances were as great as I had expected, and the production was mind-blowing. Best album to date by the band.

  • Melodic riffs, catchy lyrics, and just enough punch

Bullet For My Valentine's previous album was quite lackluster after their strong debut, and Fever represents a return to form. The singer vastly improved his vocal range and style, as well as his lyricism. The guitars are similarly effective, and the drums and bass don't detract from the feel. Most of the angst-filled lyrics are relatable, but some are overcooked. High points are Your Betrayal, Fever, and Alone.
