Product Information

Sony's futuristic-racing franchise, known for high-speeds, explosive weapons, and up-tempo electronic music, takes flight for the second time on PSPs in Wipeout Pulse. There are seven single-player modes to satisfy speed-obsessed fans, including the obligatory Single Race, Tournament, and Time Trial modes. Other modes include Speed Lap, which is essentially a time trial where players have only one speed boost per lap, Eliminator, which tasks racers with literally destroying the competition, Zone, in which players try to stay alive for as long as possible, and Head-2-Head, where the player and the computer square off in a sprint to the finish line.<br><br>Traditional Wipeout gameplay returns largely unmolested, though the addition of a magnetic strip feature that allows for loops, vertical drops, and right-angle turns, as well as a few new weapons, helps provide some spice to the 12 new reversible courses. The brand new EG-X team joins seven squads that return from Wipeout Pure, and those eight crews coincide with the number of wireless online players possible in both Ad-hoc and Infrastructure modes. As with all games in the franchise, Wipeout Pulse features a throbbing techno soundtrack, with 16 licensed songs from popular artists like Aphex Twin, Mason, and Loco Dice, as well as one track from electronica pioneers Kraftwerk. Sony also promises downloadable content including new circuits, new teams, and new music.

    WipEout Pulse is handheld Battle Racing at it's Finest!

    I've been a fan of this franchise for many years now. The speed, the weapons, the futuristic locales... Everything about the WipEout games just make for good, solid fun. WipEout Pulse does not differ in it's delivery. Smooth gameplay and stellar graphics bring a whole new level of battle racing to the scene. The game gives you several racers to choose from at the very beginning of the game, each of these racers have a unique set of statistics that will be able to suit any player's style. From the ultra fast and lightly armored Piranha class to the Heavier armored Triakis and the sprightly all-around racer Assegai. These are just 3 of the 8 ships available to you. As with most skill-based games, WipEout Pulse's controls and gameplay are easy to learn and hard to Master. A young child will ...

    WipeOut Pulse is GREAT for PSP! Great gift or for solo!

    this is easy to play and learn and fun for many hours! great gift or for alone or even on line. if you liked wipeout pure, the 1st one, you will love this one! this is better! great tracks and graffics and sounds etc! if you never played wipeout, try this! you can get new fof psp for less than ten dollars sent to you on line, like on ebay! i only know this for psp, but it is a lot of fun. if you like space games, or race games, you will love this! it is simply an easy to control game for people who like to race, and it is easy to learm. well worth the money and a GREAT gift for the holidays if you have a sony playstation protable or a friend or family member has one. i dont know why more people dont play this. you can do multiple players too. and you can download things on line if you are ...

    AWESOME

    I'm a huge fan of the WipeOut games ever since I bought the first one for the Playstation One. This one for the PSP is over the top better than WipeOut Pure for the PSP. New weapons, new ships, better tracks. Soundtrack is good but it could have been better, I play the game without the music so I could hear all the sound effects of the game. The speakers on the PSP are lousy no matter what the game is. So I bought a FM transmitter and I crank up the volume and enjoy it a lot better.

    WipEout Pulse (PlayStation Portable)

    This game is awesome. There is a reason why they called it whipeout "pulse". Everytime I do a race, my pulse goes way up. Its fast pace. But the thing is, when you do the first mission, everything seems to be going so fast. Dont give up. After like halfway through the game, I returned to the first level and was amazed on how slow it was. It improved my reflexes. The music is very catchy too. Great game, a must have for a psp.

    a GREAT game

    The title says it all. It combines two of my favorite themes in this game: concepts of the future and racing. It's a great game for those looking for a challenge. Not only does the gameplay itself deserve praise, the soundtrack for the game also does not disappoint.
