Treacherous roads, unpredictable weather and turbulent politics challenged their stamina. They were chased by paparazzi in Kazakhstan, courted by men with very large guns in the Ukraine, hassled by the police, and given bulls' testicles for supper by Mongolian nomads. And yet despite all these obstacles they managed to ride over 20,000 miles in four months, changing their lives forever in the process. As they travelled they documented their trip, taking photographs, and writing diaries by the campfire. Great companion to the DVD
We watched both series on Netflix and loved them, so I got the books and DVDs!

I didn't understand it at first!
I enjoyed reading "Round" very much. Perhaps I'm one of the few who didn't realize that both were movie stars. We have the DVD and both my wife and daughter have watched it...both more than twice! What I enjoyed very much about both the DVD and book was the very human aspect they brought to the ride. Their interaction with UNICEF and comments about the people they met I found very touching. The constant theme of ..."we all are not that much different...we all get up each morning try to get through the day and go home to our families at night" seems to stay with me each night when I watch the World News. I can't help but wonder if we had more compassion in the world how much better we all would be.I enjoyed reading "Round" very much. Long Way Round
I had watched the DVD and loved it so I thought I would read the book. The book was a great read and gave much more insight as to what was going on in their heads on this awsome adventure. I like the way these two would take turns describing the trip and getting the two prepectives. You come away wishing you could be friends with these guys and go with them on their next ride. So Ewan, Charley, if you read this I'm in! (I wish!)I had watched the DVD and loved it so I thought I would read the book. The book was a great read and gave much more insight as to what was going on in their heads on this awsome adventure.
