Very decent product for the money! Sony tech is great!
First off, the appearance of the unit is immaculate; it goes well with whatever setup you have. Another plus is that it is easy to set-up and configure. The settings all have to be done manually however, and that can be a bit time consuming. If you do not mind browsing through options on the front display (no on-screen menu guide) or, if you are like me, enjoy fine-tuning the sound output, then this is for you. Although, it already has a decent set of presets programmed right out of the box, so fine tuning is always an option. I have only one issue: I can't get the video from my VCR to show on my tv. I have sound coming through, but no video. I have yet to figure this one out. All in all, this is a top-notch upper entry-level receiver which produces a decent punch and highly respectable ... Good for the money
Nothing spectacular. It is a basic receiver with basic options. However I think that it is the best in its price range. It does have HDMI inputs to a single HDMI out. That is great if you hang your TV and want to run fewer cables through a wall. It does not have an onscreen guide. Its power is comparable to an Aiwa stereo system (One of the Big ones, not the cheap small ones). I bought this for our living room. It does its job but does not compare to the 9.2 surround sound system that is in the theater room.Nothing spectacular. It is a basic receiver with basic options. Good A/V Receiver for the Money
The Sony STR-DH510 has many fine features, has enough power to drive my 5.1 speaker system and has a nice standby that turns itself off after 30 minutes if no activity. On the down-side, the operating manual leaves a lot to be desired in clarity and has some obvious typos or misspellings since it must have been translated from Japanese to English. I am happy with this purchase.

Results go beyond basic.
With this receiver being a basic system should be a required piece of equipment for any home entertainment setup. It is remarkable for what it does. The sound will blow you away and at times a movie will give chillbumps with its surround sound. I am Legend, the movie starring Will Smith is a perfect example of tha movie to watch with this receiver. At the beginning of the movie he is in a city driving a car when all of a sudden deer runs down the street. The sound comes from the rear speakers and then goes to the front from the left center then right speaker. Very impressive sound. Another sound when he watches his family get killed from a helicopter crash, it sounds like the helicopter is actually in the room. And this is only the bluray being used. I also have my xbox connected to it also and man when Halo comes on (the original for the original xbox) the sound is amazing. All in all, buy this receiver you won't go wrong. With it being a basic receiver, the results go beyond basic. And it also has digital inputs and a digital output along with hdmi connecting. Buy it, buy it, buy it, it's money well spent.

Great Entry Level Receiver!!!! Read the manual while playing with the functions and features and wow!! you can open your options up. Not that difficult to figure out JUST TAKE YOUR TIME! Great product and the people I bought this Item from were excellent and went out of there way to ensure customer service..excellent service "WE B DEALIN", thanks.
