Product Information

In this live action rethink of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, director Raja Gosnell puts Fred (Freddie Prinze, Jr.), Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Velma (FREAKS & GEEKS' Linda Cardellini), and Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) back into the Mystery Machine with a CGI version of the canine title character. After parting ways to protest Fred's self-centered treatment of the Mystery Inc. gang, they are brought back together by Emile Mondavarious (Rowan Atkinson) to help solve a ghoulish mystery at his teen resort and fun park, Spooky Island.Although SCOOBY-DOO is primarily a live action movie, Gosnell keeps the characters and visuals cartoonish at all times. For fans of the series, all of the expected trappings are present (from Fred's ascot to the inevitable "meddling kids" line from the bad guy), but the film also pokes fun at these elements throughout, managing to balance kiddie fun with a more grown-up self-mocking. The CGI Scooby is both convincingly lifelike and clearly make-believe, with action that is more silly than scary so kids and adults can enjoy the film together.

    wonderful addition to our kids scooby collection

    I have seen both one and two, and though I did like the second one better, I have to say the first one has many positive features of it's own. I think they did a good job staying with the familiars of the old time classic scooby doos that I watched growing up. The casting crew did an extremely awesome job casting "the gang", as they all do an exceptional job portraying the cartoon versions. It is "scary" enough to keep the adults in suspense, but not enough to give the kids nightmares! My kids loved it, and I enjoyed it as well!

    I have every scooby doo tape ever made. I love him

    This was one of the very first scooby doo cartoons to be put on DVD, Its fantastic , and will keep the kiddies busy and happy. having 5 Children Scoooby was always my best friend, It was my time to getthings done when scooby went on, the kids were busy and i could do the things I needed to. he has been a life long friend to me. and I admit, I have seen every one ofthem, and still own all. they are my litte piece of my kids childhood. Just the music alone make me think back of when my kids were small. I love scooby., what a well thought out series with bright bold colors and a plot in every show. makeing the kids think, nothing like todays cartoons which seem to just leave them looking like zombies. Scooby was a cartton that you had to use your mind and my kids did , they use to sit ...

    Classic Scooby Doo & The Gang UPDATED!!

    I bought the movie a few years back from my youngest daughter who's 9 & she STILL watches it almost EVERY day!! lol. Scooby Doo The Movie is a new version of the classic. I always loved Scooby & my kids love him and the gang just as much if not more. This movie is all the fun you remember, new yet is able to hold onto its classic touch of the cartoon somehow even though it is in the new animation & real people style. It is great for any age & any Scooby Lover. I do not want to give away the storyline as in the past with one of my other reviews someone messaged me to tell me that i gave the movie away before he had a chance to watch it. Sorry! I just wanted to tell you that i highly recommend this movie for any Scooby fans, past, present and future! Scooby Doo lives on!!!

    Scooby-Doo -

    The cast is incredible. They have a real on-screen chemistry that really makes the movie for me. Especially Matthew Lillard as Shaggy... if he hasn't just completely NAILED the character as perfectly as you could in live action, then I'm the queen of France. There's the romantic attraction between Daphne and Fred that comes out on-screen pretty much throughout, and of course the distant attraction Velma had for Fred is right there too. But do I detect a little bit of an attraction to Shaggy? Don't remember that in the cartoon... but I can accept that.

    Great movie for all ages !

    The casting of these characters based on the cartoon is stunningly spectacular, they even sound like the ones you know and love. This movie was awesome to watch because the story is classic Scooby (with some new twists) and it is just fun to see the characters in real life. There are no dull moments, between watching the very well done animated ghouls, monsters, and Scooby, awesome characters Thelma, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and the mystery story line, Scooby Doo the Movie will keep you seated & satisfied.
