You also must help them prepare to defeat Valmar once again in an epic war between light and darkness.Unique for a PlayStation 2 game of the time, Grandia II is fully voiced and acted out in English. The cast includes Cam Clarke and Jennifer Hale. The game also features a unique, real-time battle system utilizing combo attacks and earning the player special points. Skill and magic points help your party learn special moves and spells. You can also move your characters around in battle. Retreat from an enemy, or move in closer to attack. Combo attacks can be increased by equipping yourself with different accessories, and they can hit up to four times. If your original target enemy dies, the combo attack will auto target the next closest one. Skills are learned through Skill and Magic Coins, and the more you level up, the more effective your characters are in the game.The Grandia games are well-known for their rich casts and clever storytelling. This version of Grandia II does not disappoint. Joining Ryudo and Elena on their journey are four other characters, all with their own stories, skills, and motivations. Millenia is an archer with a dark past and a sharp tongue. Roan is a dagger-wielding young man with a past tied to the Cyrum kingdom. One of the Best RPG's Ever Created
This game is fantastic. "Grandia II" was originally on the "Sega Dreamcast" but got ported to the "Sony Playstation 2." The game is about a young man named, "Ryudo" who is trying to save the world from being destroyed and taken over by the god of evil, "Valmar" you also have to help escort a young choir girl named, "Elena" to a cathedral to be cured of possession by the "Wings of Valmar." When playing the game you have to find and destroy all of the "Pieces" of Valmar so that you can become stronger and wound Valmar (The "Wings of Valmar" being one of those pieces). During your journey, you meet very interesting characters some become apart of your party, others are your enemies. The special moves/attacks have some of the most incredible animations I personally have ever seen. I'll give ... This game is fantastic. The game's main character, "Ryudo," his ultimate attack is called "Sky Dragon Slash." What he does first is he says, "Sworn Enemies, Take That!" and he throws his sword up into the air and it illuminates with a bright white aura. Ryudo jumps in the air, grabs the sword, and shouts, "Sky Dragon Slash!" and thrusts the sword into the ground. During that moment an awesome design appears on the ground and it instantly kills all of the enemies. It's better if you actually play the game. The magical attacks are awesome as well. For example, "Dragon Zap" has got to be the coolest looking magical attack out of all of them. What happens is that a gigantic dragon made of lightning appears out of nowhere and it attacks the enemy(s) and kills/severely wounds all of them. Like I said before it's better if you actually play the game and see it for yourself. For RPG lovers this is a definite "MUST BUY" for the casual gamers this is also a "MUST BUY" because the game is extremely fun and has a little bit of a challenge to it as well. If I had to say one thing that is kind of irratating about this game is that in some areas, the game tends to lag and the characters move slow. Other than that little speed bump, I highly recommend buying this game. 5 out of 5

For my husband
My husband loves it. Its a game hes owned before and has been wanting to find again for our collection. It came fast and was in good condition, give or take a few minor scratches but it works fine and ive been enjoying watching him play it.

Best. RPG. Ever.
This is one of THE best RPG's out there. It's totally different from any of the Final Fantasy series, yet neither is it so far out there that it would fall under any of the Star Ocean and Xenosega series. Voice-overs are amazing, probably one of the best of any RPG series; one of the most unique graphics- some ok looking 3-d mixed with Anime-style graphics during certain technique game-plays. Story line is also superb. Can't praise this game enough. If you don't end up tearing through the game at some parts to just being WOW'ed along the game-play, I don't know what to tell you.This is one of THE best RPG's out there.
