The NFL has an eye on sports history
One of the best things about the NFL in the past few years is its "Road To" DVD packages for recent Super Bowl championship teams, which consist of the complete original broadcasts of all the post-season games of the winning team, rather than mere highlights. The league has now released the "Road to XLII" package featuring the 2007 New York Giants, culminating with their victory over New England, the greatest upset in Super Bowl history since the Jets beat the Colts in 1969. The huge storage capacity of the DVD format enables the entire playoff season to fit handily into a 5-DVD package which is the size of a paperback book. "Giants Road to XLII" also includes the last New York regular-season game, which, of course, the Giants lost to the Patriots--a prequel to the huge upset to follow in ... I think the NFL will be doing this every year now--similar packages for the '05 Steelers and '06 Colts have also been released, containing the complete broadcasts of every post-season game. It's interesting to reflect how much times have changed over the years--reportedly, the tape of the first Super Bowl in 1967 was accidentally erased!

This is exactly what I have been hoping for. This DVD set includes 5 Discs. On Disc 1 is the week 17 game with the Giants and New England Patriots. On Disc 2 is the playoff game with the Giants and Tampa Bay Bucs. On Disc 3 is the playoff game with the Giants and Dallas Cowboys. On Disc 4 is the NFC Championship game with the Giants and Green Bay Packers. Lastly on Disc 5 is the Superbowl game with the Giants and the unbeaten up til this game anyway New England Patriots. This is an incredible DVD set to have for any Giants fan or football fan that wants to remember one of the biggest upsets in Superbowl history. Let's not forget the Incredible play with Eli Manning (Giants MVP) getting away from a sack to throw the completion on third and five to David Tyree who caught the ball on his ... Buy this DVD set and enjoy it over and over again. My final statement to all is Let's Go Giants. They had the real perfect season at least with the upset.

There are three codes that have evolved from the sport of Rugby. North American football has arguably travelled the farthest distance from its origins. Rugby is a game of flowing endurance whereas NFL is one of explosive activity punctuated by periods of strategic planning. For those familiar with Rugby and unfamiliar with NFL I recommend this DVD boxed set. Full-game replays are provided that will allow you to study this highly technical game over one season. Even better, the last game is considered the best Superbowl ever, the underdog wins and displays the very best skills the game has to offer. According to The Digital Bits the DVD will include: Both the NFC and AFC Championship Games in their complete uncut broadcast. Super Bowl XLII in its complete uncut broadcast including post game show. A 4th disc with bonus features. Warner Brothers website has announced the DVD but did not include the contents. The game was broadcast in HD 1080i so I am surprised there is no high definiton version available. Consider it a blessing that they are finally releasing the entire game broadcast. Excellent gift for the NY Giants fan!
My husband went crazy when I gave this to him for his birthday! He loved it. I've seen him watching these games over and over, even inviting some of his friends over to watch them with him. The quality of the dvds is excellent and the sound is even, not like some you get where one minute it's a normal volume and the next it's booming. This was the least expensive gift I gave him for his birthday, yet the one I see is getting the most use.
