Go extreme off-roading with "Pure" on the Xbox 360. Developed by the award-winning Black Rock Studio and published by Disney Interactive Studios, this high-octane, all-terrain vehicle (ATV) video game benefits from expert consultation with pro rider Wes Miller, the founder of H-Bomb Films and widely known aficionado of culture and sport of ATV racing. Among the most celebrated characteristics of "Pure" on the Xbox 360 are the stunning environments and varied terrains, ranging between California dust bowls and coastal Thailand. Brought to life through breathtaking attention to detail, "Pure" for the Xbox 360 is a visual treat complete with lifelike plants, dust, dirt, splashes, and overhead helicopters – all adding to the thrill of the game. Thanks to a smooth frame rate, there are also no noticeable lags in the display, even with a screen full of other riders. The game also sounds fantastic with a full-throttle soundtrack featuring the likes of Jeff Beck, Wolfmother, and The Futureheads, and vertigo-inducing sound effects to accompany high jumps. With a physics engine that prioritizes fun over reality, while still managing to feel convincing with vehicles that hug the terrain through curves and respond appropriately to rough and bumpy tracks, "Pure" for the Xbox 360 has drawn comparison with the SSX series of video games for the Wii and other consoles. Pull off tricks throughout the game by pushing certain buttons or pushing in different directions, executing each through a sophisticated risk versus reward system. Hold out for longer and successfully land and the rewards are exhilarating, while landing wrong will wipe out all of the accumulated points. Among the hardest tricks to perform are also the most reality-defying, such as the special backflip while the rider stands on the seat of their rotating ATV. Each track also has its own special shortcuts to discover, contributing to the excellent replay value of "Pure," which also benefits from cheats. The main game play mode in "Pure" is the World Tour, a full campaign taking the player from the basic type of D-class engines to faster ATVs and more challenging competition. Customize with a choice of six riders, offering both male and female options, and unlock a vast range of new parts and upgrades as the World Tour progresses. Choose to personalize vehicles right down to their most trivial details, including handlebar guards and radiator scoops, or forgo the process with the touch of a button, opting instead to have the system optimize a ride for you. Other game modes include Freestyle, Sprint, and Race. Go for Freestyle to practice tricks and experiment with button combinations, going against the clock of the draining gas tank. Tracks are packed with refuel power-ups and plenty of ramps for pulling off tricks and earning points. Sprints are tighter, shorter tracks with a focus on speed and sticking to the track, while the popular Race mode combines standard racing with tricks, scoring points to earn speed boosts. Unlike the PlayStation 3 (PS3) version, "Pure" on the Xbox 360 allows players to unlock achievements as they go along. Offering a choice to play against capable AI opponents in the single player mode or to take part in exhilarating multiplayer games with up to 16 human participants, "Pure" for the Xbox 360 promises hours of varied all-terrain fun. For its capacity to check the all-important boxes of excellent visuals, high action, and enjoyable physics, the game has gained popularity among both fans of the sport and total newbies alike since its release date in 2008.

    A surprise treat of frenzied fun!

    I'm not an ATV enthusiast. I've never even rode one. But I've played many a racer not withstanding Project Gotham Racing series, Forza 2, Gran Turismo 3 and 4, and the Burnout series. Of that list, Pure is in the best company with Burnout without question. Well Burnout and SSX, if you remember the wily snowboarding game from years ago. I am a gamer through and through though. I believe I know good when I have it. Pure is definitely good. From the startup screen on it was apparent some genuine polish went into the final product. The menus were snazzy and easy to navigate. Upon starting your new ATV career, you are presented with customization and loadout options that, at least by scale, are on par with what's offered in the Forza/GT games.     Very fun ATV racing game - Does get a little repetitive

    Pure is an extremely fun, over-the-top ATV racing game. Pure is a game that you can pick up the controller and almost immediately get the feel for the control of the ATV. It does take a little while to completely get the hang of it so if you don't like it when you first start playing it, keep playing it and give it a chance. There are tons of different customization options to choose from and you can open up slots to build new ATVs, so you can make a different ATV for each type of race, whether you need more speed, better handling, or quicker trick abilities. No other game can you get over 200 feet of air while doing multiple tricks and then make a smooth landing, its purely awesome.     Motorstorm meets Tony Hawk on an ATV

    PROS: Solid driving system and easy to pick up. Thrilling races. Over the top cool tricks. Really nice animations. Excellent camera angles. Beautiful Graphics (better then GRID). Gorgeous scenarios (specially the vertical panoramas while in mid air). Physics engine. Competitive AI. Lots of upgrades that actually help you a lot. Replay value. Just fun to play solo or online. CONS: Not as many tricks as you might expect, but its OK. Some other game modes would have been nice, but the basic ones do the trick. Overall Thoughts: As the name suggests this is game is PURE racing, PURE thrill, PURE over the top fun! It is incredibly easy to pick up and if you've played "Motorostorm" and "Tony Hawk PS" or "Skate" you'll feel just like home. This is for me the best ATV racing game ever made and ...

    Pretty fun!

    Well worth the ten bucks I spent on it. Has a lot of customization and really great graphics. Very fun, fast paced racing. I've yet to play the multi player online but I've played local with some friends and we had a blast. Trying to figure out all the tricks is pretty cool and once it starts to feel fluid it becomes a key element in completing the harder races. Very nicely structured. If you can find it shipped for $10 its a must buy for the arcade race fan!

    Pure is "pure" fun and a great buy!

    I can't believe that I didn't grab this game up sooner. Absolutely one of the best games out there. Graphics are fantastic and the controls are great. In the game you gain parts for winning races. You use these parts to upgrade your ride making the speed, tricks, ect better. Great game.
