Five Films Show Cary Grant's Impressive Acting Range
The Cary Grant Signature Collection includes Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948), Destination Tokyo (1943), The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer (1947), My Favorite Wife (1940), and Night and Day (1946). These films are each very good, and any fan of Cary Grant or classic movies will enjoy watching them. It always impresses me how Cary Grant was capable of delivering excellent performances in the zaniest screwball comedy and the most serious drama. Grant's full range is on display here, from a war movie, to a biopic, to comedies. I prefer the last. Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, which pits Cary against every possible thing that could go wrong with building a new house, and The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer, in which Cary must contend with both Shirley Temple and Myrna ... A great grouping of Cary Grant movies
Cary Grant... From a serious lead role in Destination Tokyo, to the hilarity of My Favorite Wife, and on to the deadpan humor of Mr. Blandings builds His Dream House, what a great bunch of movies. Movies that are timeless. I'm glad I got DVDs of these. Thank You!

Some of it fun
I like C Grant's personality. He was a great actor and deserved more credit, than he got. The collection is somewhat jumbled. The Cole Porter 'Night and day' should have been omitted. It was not his style and he seemed odd in that role. I do not care for war-movies, but surprisingly, even though this was a war-propaganda movie, I enjoyed 'Destination Tokio', as much, as I would have, seeing 'Operation Petticoat' in this collection. 'My favorite wife' and 'Mr Blandings' were funny and entertaining. 'The Bachelor and Bobby-soxer', made to re-introduce Shirley Temple as a then-teenager, was a dud, that would have been fun in a setting without her. This 5-Disc set was in excellent , brand new condition.
I bought this Cary Grant collection a few weeks before Christmas, for my husband. He loves Cary Grant. One of my husband's favorite movies, witch this set had, is "Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House". I loved that this set was brand new, still in the original wraping. I wanted my husband to have a New one, not a used one. And the price was very reasonable.
