Product Information

Maximus was a good king. His subjects were happy, businesses were successful, food was tasty, and all seemed right. Since he ruled over four continents with only his wise judgment and Scepter of Order, this was a considerable achievement. Little did the King know, however, that an evil creature named Arech Dragonbreath planned on stealing the scepter to throw the world into chaos.<br><br>One night while Maximus slept, Arech teleported inside the Royal Chambers and pulled the Scepter of Order from the King's grip. He then ordered his followers to attack the continents and take as much land as they desired. Meanwhile, Maximus grew seriously ill. It seems the Scepter's return will not only restore the kingdom to its former glory, but also save the King's life.<br><br>Arech shattered the magical instrument into 25 pieces, giving sixteen to evil nobles, one for himself, and scattering the remaining eight across the continents. This is where you come in. You'll need to save the dying king and four continents by retrieving all 25 parts of the Scepter of Order. Depending on the difficulty level you select, you'll either have 200, 400, 600 or 900 days to accomplish this.<br><br>The four characters you'll choose from include Sir Crimsaun the Knight, Lord Palmer the Paladin, Tynnestra the Sorceress, and Mad Moham the Barbarian. During your quest you'll be able to amass armies (depending on your character's leadership skills), siege castles, obtain contracts, fight turn-based battles and manage your weekly commission. Passwords will allow players to continue their game at any time.

    Great strategy/RPG game

    This RPG/strategy game is one of my favorite Genesis titles. Recruit a variety of classes into your personalized army (ranging from Knights, cavalry, pikeman and militia, to druids, archmages, vampires, demons and dragons) and fight numerous battles in your attempt to recover the hidden sceptre. A great deal a replayability, as each time the items, villians, and recrutiable classes (except for the king's army) are located in different places (add that to the fact that you can craft vastly different armies each time because of all of the different classes, and the uniques skills of each class), which allows for this great game to be enjoyed numerous times. I highly reccomend Tynestra, as magic is crucial in this game (i.e., time stop to save money once you have a massive--i.e., ...

    Best Game Ever!!

    My husband bought this because he used to have it when he was younger and he wanted to try it out again....he still LOVES it!! This game is extremely fun and involves alot of thinking and strategy. Even though it is a "battle" game there is no violence, it is more like a chess game where you plot your moves and pick which characters you want to battle with the opposing castles characters...the losing characters simply dissapear so it is also a good game for younger children to play as well. Another great thing is the game is different every time you play it! You have to take your knight and horse and find other characters like ogres and peasants (too many others to list here!) and find treasure chests with money to fund your army and also maps of other continents, but everything is in ...

    Great Game

    The overall random factor of nothing ever being the same from one game to the next is a big plus. The stratagy needed makes it chalanging ever time, especialy when you never have the same army twice. Game play is simple and interface easy. A deffinante best game from Sega.

    I loved playing this game as a kid, and I still love to play it. The game is different every time that I play. It should have never left my collection.
