Product Information

Activision's third band-centric Guitar Hero release follows rock group Van Halen during its formative years with David Lee Roth as lead singer, but without original bassist Michael Anthony. As with previous titles focusing on Aerosmith and Metallica, Guitar Hero: Van Halen features 3D modeled versions of each band member as well as signature-style moves, clothing, and instruments from the past and present. Complete a solo tour on bass, guitar, drums, or vocals, or team up with up to three friends for the full band experience. In addition to Van Halen's biggest hits, 19 songs from such artists as Queen, Weezer, blink-182, the Offspring, and Queens of the Stone Age are included. Among the 25 featured songs from Van Halen are "Jump," "Hot for Teacher," "Panama," "Little Guitars," "Cathedral," "Spanish Fly," and "Eruption."

    Great game (for VH fans) but not worth full retail

    I got a great deal on my copy on ebay and love it for that fact. I have been an RockBand fanatic from the get-go and actually bought Guitar Hero: World Tour with very dissappointing results. However, THIS game was something I really wanted to have. With the RockBand / GH cross compatibility with equipment, made this purchase an easy one and something that was cheap enough not to require an entire switchover to a whole other game franchise and their gear. I had been initially worried since this game had been given away as a 'promotional copy' for free along with advance purchases of GH5. So I had always been eyeing auctions to find a copy for about half the cost of the GH5 purchase price (assuming the person wasn't a VH fan). I knew that I was going to try and spend around $30.     Van Halen is NOT overrated

    This game is loads of fun the best rock band game I've ever played the songs are fun and I like playing them over and over. I thought at first this game would be hard because of Eddie Van Halen's Superior guitar playing techniques but I am able to learn and compete I give it a thumbs up

    Go for it, great game, great price

    I'm a GH/RB fan, and hesitated a little before buying it, once i am no not a VH fan. But it turned to be one excellent game, cos Eddie's solos are really fun to play. Pros: - good price - very fun guitar playing (and drums to a lesser extent) - "space truckin" and "painkiller" kick azz - got to know better this great band - it's guitar hero! Cons: - nothing new in relation to other GH games - doesn't even has a fun HQ plot like GH: Metallica

    Same ol song and dance

    They did it again basically its GH Metallica with van halen pasted in. Good thing I love my music games or else it may have been pretty repetitive. Although I never really liked Van Halen all too much this game may have made a Van Halen fan out of me. My cousin feels the same about the beatles. All in All I thouroghly enjoyed this game although as I said before unless you are a music game addict or a Van Halen fan this game may feel like more of the same.

    GREAT GAME!!!!!!!

    Great Music Great Game!!!! This game brings back all of the classics and alot of newer nusic. Can be enjoyed by the whole family, there is nothing better than the great hair spray bands.
