À propos de ce produit

Product Information

In a post 1943 era world, the cause of war and all human strife was found to be the Medallion. The stone has the potential to grant unlimited power to the wielder, and so the forces of light as well as the forces of darkness covet it. It's because of this struggle that all wars are fought. Four people all touched by the ceaseless conflict in different ways all come together in one purpose. They will destroy the stone, and thusly take away the world's reason for war.

Each pilot commands an advanced fighter plane that possesses the finest weaponry available on the planet. (Not bad for so-called pacifists.) What's more, each ship has a sacred elemental stone that allows them to unleash forces so devastating that everything in the immediate area is vaporized. Not to be accused of being total hypocrites, however, the peace-keeping force also has the ability to erect a shield that simply bounces all the bullets fired at their planes back to the source.

Their journey towards peace through pieces won't be easy. The skies are clouded with enemy fighters all focused on keeping these four away from the Medallion. Players will have to blast their way through multiple stages stocked with hundreds of enemies, several sub-bosses, and a level boss each before they finally arrive at the sacred shrine. Even then, the Medallion's not too keen on being turned into a pile of rubble -- so expect a stiff fight.

GigaWing supports two-player simultaneous play and offers a special Score Attack mode that lets you select a stage so you can try for the best possible score and a 100% kill rate. You can also try to overcome your best score in Arcade mode and see the results of your play in the Ranking screen. There's also a gallery with images to unlock to encourage the exploitation of special events.

  • Giga Wing - Capcom/Takumi

released in 1999 by Capcom and 'supported by Takumi' (who would also be involved with the excellent Mars Matrix the next year) The 'Giga' in the title chiefly refers to the insane scores this game lets you make. In how many games can you make a billion without breaking a sweat? It's not that hard to get a trillion either, my best is close to 30 trillions. As the arcade flyer says, "Go for the Giga score!". The player controls one of four different futuristic aircraft and must destroy enemy aircraft, tanks, ships, and buildings using both guns and missiles mounted on the aircraft and a limited supply of bombs which damage or destroy all enemies on-screen when used. The game is based on the player(s) trying to destroy a medallion which possesses great power. Many of the bosses use the ...

  • A solid shooter by Capcom

Gigawing is a 2D vertical shooter. It was originally released for arcade by Capcom in 98/99. In Gigawing, you can choose from 5 characters (1 hidden) who control different fighters, each equipped with special shots. I usually pick the red or blue color fighters as they are easy to control. The boss for each stage is huge and you are going to expect many bullets on the screen at once. Many of the bullets can be dodged. Another good news is you can hold down the fire button to charge up a "reflective force" which will covert enemies' bullets into your bullets! My only complaint would be the game is too short. Other than that, it's a solid 2D arcade shooter. And you will get a perfect arcade translation on your Sega Dreamcast. If you don't like shooters or 2D games, stay away.

  • Although no case or manual, the game is great.

Giga Wing is one of the best shmups (shoot 'em ups) made by Capcom. Trust me, I know! I'm a huge fan & collector of shmups. Giga Wing is one of those wild, insanely hard, bullet curtain type of shmups (the kind I absolutely love). It's a rare find so, if you are one of the fortunate individuals that still owns a Dreamcast, this should a definite purchase!

  • Why I bought Giga Wing

First off, I'm a retro gamer and I love shmups (shoot 'em ups) Giga Wing is indeed promising like Ikaruga. I bought it because I knew in the future it would be hard to find so I said "screw it, let's rock." I reconmend it to any shmup fan.
