Pretty good show
This is a pretty good movie. My kids love it, and it is somewhat entertaining for even adults. The first episode, "International Super Spy" is based on a James Bond type of theme, with music kind of jazz like. It is a double length feature (twice as long as the usual episodes). The second episode is "The Secret of Snow". With a holiday / Christmas theme, and big band type music, this show is pretty enjoyable. The third episode is my favorite, "The Giant Problem". With 80's style of music (done perfectly for the genre) and comical situations, the story is of 2 magicians who can't seem to get their spells right in order to get rid of a giant that is making noise while the royal princess wants to take her nap! While not really educational in nature, if you're looking for good, clean ... This is a pretty good movie. My kids love it, and it is somewhat entertaining for even adults. Title misleading. Thought it was 1 we had seen on TV.
I purchased this because my daughter had seen an episode on TV where they were playing in the backyard and were "Super Spy's". There was a song where one of the characters would whisper, "shhhh,shhhhh, secret.... shhhhh,shhhhh, super secret" and then sing, "I'm a secret agent on a secret mission...." and so on. This movie has the first episode being the Super Secret Super Spy and no where in this episode are they in the backyard. They start off like they are all in short movie. It's not the one I expected. But the last two thirds of the DVD are normal, therefore making it not such a bad thing. Backyardigans are the best!
I have 7 children between the ages 2 and 13 and every one of them love Backyardigans. I love them because they are creative, always have a moral to the story, the lyrics to the songs are clever, cute and funny, they teach a lot about cooperation and being a good friend. My kids like to pretend that they are the different characters in the show and will continue to play "Backyardigans" long after the movie is over. It has increased their imagination and creativity in their play. I highly recommend them for children of all ages. Every Backyardigans DVD that I have owned has been wonderful.I have 7 children between the ages 2 and 13 and every one of them love Backyardigans. I bought super secret super spy a few weeks ago because my sons love the backyardigans and I could not find this DVD in the stores. Got it for a great price on ebay. The double length feature is a little long to hold their attention for the entire movie but they loved the second and third episodes. It is very imaginative and has good music but overall I prefer other backyardigan movies including polka palace party and fairy tale village. My boys always choose those movies first over the double length episodes.
