Awesome for reading, Excellent Battery life.... IMHO
O.k. my overall rating given was a 4. Why? Because it works for exactly it's purpose, E-reading books. Period! All the extra isn't why it was purchased and therefore shouldn't be included when rating it. However, since it is there, here is my honest opinion. The wifi is quick to pickup, and quick to connect but the connection when loading pages is very slow. What do you expect on a very cheap made and cheaply priced item? Me? Not much. So, next please.... The ability to play movies is there, but because of the slower type processor the movie plays fine but the audio cannot keep up. So it's always Out of sync. Next..... Playing photos is impossible. The item says it should recognize .jpg or .jpeg but it doesn't. I am pretty Tech savvy and this little gadget is PERFECT for e-reading books ... Fantastic product that does what I want it to do!
I own one of these little gems and highly recommend it! I have had mine for 21/2 years.It reads more different formats than any other reader. If you use the Calibre program -free with the book- or get it free online-you change do whatever adaptations you want and then simply do a drag and drop into the My Books folder on the e-reader. Or Calibre will load them for you. Simply install to your computer and you can change formats,fonts, titles,just about everything you would want to adjust. I usually change my books to text format and 12pt size font it works great.Also has a nice light feature that you can adjust.I set the light to lowest and my battery charge lasts about 8-8 hours.My entire family each has one of these.We have bought 5 so far.The only restriction we discoverd is that you ... Perfect price for an e-reader, but it's a little sluggish.
I always wanted a e-reader with low price, but never found any by less than US$70,00. This one was perfect, for the price, and also for the ability to read PDF files, with a good battery life. The only problem I've found is the processing time to load e-books and changing between pages, worse if there are pictures on the page. For other activities, like watching movies or browsing the web, it's very painfull to do it, so, if you want just an e-reader, it's very good, but if you want more, it's better to expend a lot more to get a good tablet or smartphone.I always wanted a e-reader with low price, but never found any by less than US$70,00. Not so good
This is a nice reader if you want to enjoy reading books on epub format.You are able to change font,font size,and it reads to you( text to speech). I wanted to read PDF files and the font is soo small I could barely see it. It doesn't give you much of the zoom option. Now, wifi works, but very very slow. Sometimes screen froze.Cheap material. the only thing I liked about the reader was the mp3 player. I downloaded pictures to it and show "error" when I tried to view them. I think I will go for the barnes an noble color screen e reader. color capable book reader
Works fine and wife enjoys how basic it is. Not a lot of complicating things to learn. Have a wireless router at home so she can connect to internet. Though found it a lot easier to download books to desk top and then transfer to reader. She loves being able to carry photos and music on the Augen as well as being a reader. I have recommended it to friends.
