Product Information

This curious blend of big-name brands tells the earlier parts of the Star Wars story in a version of films' universe that's been built from scratch with Lego parts and people. The game highlights the action of Episodes I through III (the more recent, prequel films); players take control of thoroughly Lego versions of heroes such as Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Amidala, Anakin Skywalker, and others, to battle through action-oriented levels based on the films' settings, but constructed entirely with Lego blocks.<br><br>Different characters have different special skills, and this leads to some exploration and puzzle-solving gameplay along with the 3D platform-style action and combat. As they progress, heroes earn credits which can be spent to unlock new characters. The main game features unlimited lives, encouraging players to explore the secrets hidden in each area. LEGO Star Wars was developed by Traveller's Tales, a studio previously known for its handling of licensed properties in games such as A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, The Weakest Link, and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex.

    LEGO Star Wars!!! Nuff said!!!

    Well I never thought I'd see the day. What's next? Batman, Spiderman, Harry Potter. Who knows? Who cares? This is where the franchising begins. Lego's track record on games is not so good but this one is better than all the other because let's face it, it's Star Wars. The game is fun. Using the force should be more fun. Running should be faster. Jumping should be higher. Controls should be better. Playing alone can be a real drag and quite tedious at times collection LEGO pieces and smashing stuff into little LEGO pieces. Although it is a nice touch, having to smash everything is repetitive. But at least you get to play through the first 3 movies and it is a really fun game. Would have been great to see online play as well. Graphics are decent but it doesn't take a long time to play ...

    The First(second) Epic LEGO Trilogy!!!

    It's kind of neat how The first three Star Wars Movies were the best While the Last Three Were Fun but not as involveing. It's the Same with the LEGO Games but in reverse release order. I recently got the Second Trilogy first in store and had a Blast going through all the levels and discovering all the hidden content. It's a very involveing game. Then I bought the First Trilogy off eBay because It's not in stores anymore. The game is fun but not as involveing as the second series and doesn't seem to contain as much content. Fun none-the-less and I'm glad I got it.

    Lego Star Wars is Great for Pre-Schoolers!!

    I have a 4yr old son who seems to be like other young boys that enjoys the action/fighting style games. We took a gamble on purchasing this game, and it was a gamble that paid off really well. He could (if we let him) spend multiple hours upon hours playing this game, as the game isn't to overbearing for his gaming level. At first when I saw him playing it, I laughed because I am used to more blood/guts/gore games myself, but when you "kill" another one of the characthers it's like a Lego Man that just falls to small lego pieces. He really enjoys it, and if you can get this game for under $10 on ebay it is definately worth the purchase.

    Great Star Wars game

    Very true to the first 3 episodes of Star Wars. Since it is the predecessor to the newer Star Wars Legos based on the second 3 episodes (the original 70s/80s trilogy), it lacks the polish of the newer game. But it's still a fine game. But having played the newer one first, I can immediately see the flaws of the first one. the graphics are great. the sounds are authentic. great game for kids. but they're going to need your help for some of the more challenging puzzles.

    Lego Star Wars for XBOX - Highly Recommend!

    I bought this game for my 7 year old son based on ratings from other reviewers and the lack of realistic and gratuitous violence. The process of "killing" other characters is very cartoonish and results in the lego pieces breaking apart and slowly disappearing - more so in the fashion of building a character with real legos and breaking it apart. My son loves this game and it has been a great bonding time for us because we can play together. The controls are not complicated for adults or children and my son picked up on the various tasks/movements rather quickly. It is also cool because you can switch characters anytime you want during play to utilize their talents/tools/weapons to accomplish the mission. The other cool part is that it follows a storybook format and follows the movie ...
