Game is an Okay MMO, but the figure is great.
I actually purchased this game for the Orc Warhammer Figure. I played the 10 day free trial of the game before and I am going to give the game another shot, but what I really wanted was the Orc Figure. Most MMOs are similar an many ways. This one takes the Warhammer World and creates its own MMO. I didn't like the character customization, not too many options, kind of like World of Warcraft. Probably the best customizations around are Star Wars Galaxies or Star Trek Online. The classes are pretty good and having played other games, it was easy to pick up the game play. If you have played an MMO, this will be easy to learn. To sum up a game, pick an MMO that you enjoy the world. If you like Star Trek, then Star Trek Online. Warhammer Online.....your next stop for Adventure
Well, first let me point out that "ygendre", already did a good job describing the game, so I will stick with my feelings being a player. The characters are well defined and every race/class has strong/weak points in a balanced way of looking at a large scale war as the game intend to. Order and Chaos, have a good selection of classes and great fun is in balancing a group, or a guild, with as many professions as possible. That said let me make a short list of what, imho, are some of the good and the bad points of the game: --- GOOD PART Customization: Characters can be built in the way you prefer, to give you YOUR Witch Hunter or YOUR Chosen of the Chaos Gods or whatever, in a way that is difficoult to replicate. The skills are many and the level of customization of your career is more ... Magical Items: * pain and fun of all players, are they not? :) * The items you can find during your quests or from looting are as good as the ones you can buy from an auctioner and even better in some cases, alleviating the excruciating pain, so common in many other games, of forcing players to farm over and over again the same spawning zone to get that particular item, almost impossible to find and absolutely vital(I always hated that) or, sometimes even worse, to force you to think about gold more then fun, to buy items from vendors. The quest rewards are not silly, and sometimes some items can be gained ONLY as rewards, like some trophies that you can "append" to your character and show to all! Leveling Up: Quite simple, you get enough experience and you automatically go up in level, called RANK, getting the Hit Points and upgrading your existing skills. To gain new ones you must visit a Trainer, present in almost every war camp or special location of your faction. Player Vs Player: many like that, many don't...it's difficoult to outline, being a very personal way of playing, but, all in all, every PvP player can be satisfied in the scenarios and Real Vs Realm zones of free butchering ;) Player Vs Enviroment: myself, I prefer to do all the quests in a map before going ahead (30 years of PnP D&D has to count for something lol) BUT you can skip many quests if you are the type of player that have no patience for developing a complex story line and you prefer to "get dirty" asap. On the other hand, the sheer number of quests is more then enough to guarantee any player A LOT to do if he/she wants to create a war story and not only a collection of killings. Every quest you do DO contribute to the overall score of your faction (the more points you have, the more likely your faction is to control that map). ---BAD PART The Order Faction is somewhat weaker then Chaos, or so I noticed in many fights. Maybe the Empire being unable to call out a tank (the typical front line warrior - an armored nightmare more or less) in the field is a drawback, but they are going to release it in the next few upgrades so... At higher levels (say around liv 20 to 25) you will need some farming to get more xp or some mobs will be definitely to tough unless you are part of a group. Not all the classes and races are present (but again, they are going to release them). All in all, I hope that WoW players won't get mad(I was one of them), but I really think WAR can be the game we all were waiting for. One last line: the collection edition is worth having! The books are great and you get some bonus items...so get it!

Like most MMORPGS you start off with selecting a server and choosing whether to align with the forces of destruction or the forces of order. There are 6 unique races to choose from all based off of Games Workshop Warhammer Fantasy tabletop battle game. As well each race has at least 3 classes to choose between. The Forces of Order: VS. The Forces of Destruction: Empire: VS. Chaos: - Bright Wizard (ranged) - Chosen (melee) - Warrior Priest (healer) - Magus (ranged) - Witch Hunter (melee) - Marauder (melee) - Zealot ... So that leaves a whopping 60 different classes to choose between. The Main aspect of WAR is the never ending battle between the forces of destruction and order. Just like its predecessor Dark Age of Camelot it focuses on Realm vs. Realm Combat (RvR). But that's not all there is to the game there are a lot of quests to complete (for you solo players) and the unique Public Quests (PQ). The PQ's are the first of its kind in a MMORPG you can freely join in at any time with any amount of people, players cooperate with each other to achieve the mission objective but also compete against each other for the highest points, at the end of a successful quest the points are tallied and awards are given out. The RvR areas are places for the forces of destruction and order to compete for areas and keeps, if one side controls all the points it helps out there economy. As for my Closing Comments WAR is unique experience for a mmorpg, massive battles between factions in RvR, smaller battles with the scenarios that you can easily join at anytime, as well as the PQ's that you can get wonderful loot from. So far this is one MMORPG that has had a fluid release since launch, and i see a lot of potential with this MMORPG. It holds high in my list of played MMORPGS. Hopefully we'll start to see a lot of new content released and possibly see some expansions in the future.

Play the game that WoW stole its art direction from and experience real PvP
Probably the best art book I've ever received from buying a collector's edition of a game. It's actually huge and full of amazing details of the game's development. Overall the game is a great MMO, as far as MMO experiences go. The PvP is fast passed and exciting. PvP experiences range from your generalized, scenario-based capture the flag instances to full-scale castle sieging involving war machines like battering rams, cannons, mortars and boiling oil! Classes are very refreshing and the each race has amazing amounts of personality. No bland humans or elves in this game! If your a fan of Gamesworkshop's Warhammer series your going to love this game. Great books
If you like Warhammer fantasy art, this would be a must have. I love the art and the graphic novel is a nice added bonus.
