Product Information

The universal appeal of children busy at work and at play was captured by the illustrator Kate Greenaway at the turn of the century. Her designs in books and magazines brought these fanciful children into homes around the country. It was another artist, Bertha Corbett, who christened them with the name Sunbonnet, and declared that it wasn't necessary to show the face when displaying emotions. She illustrated the book, Sunbonnet Babies, which became the basis for the idea that quiltmakers now recognize.

    Quilt In A Day Sunbonnet Sue Visits Quilt In A Day

    As with all of Eleanore Burns books, pamphlets, and DVD's about constructing quilts this book is complete with patterns and simple and easy to read and follow instructions. She is very clear on fabric choices and quantity needed and other supplies that might be needed for best results. It also does have a companion DVD that can be purchased separately. I own many of her books/DVD's and have personally made many of the quilts too. I can assure you that whether you are a beginner at quilting as I was or an old hand at it, you need only to follow the clear instructions given in this or any QIAD book and at the end you will have a wonderful quilt that you can be proud of.

    Sunbonnet Sue Visits Quilt in a Day by Eleanor Burns

    This is a delightfully illustrated and helpful book from the creator of "Quilt in a Day". Patterns (to trace) and step-by-step instructions are included along with suggestions on how to personalize each block. A yardage chart for making projects from a four-panel wall hanging to queen size spread are included. This is a great book for those who have basic sewing/quilting skills as well as the expert quilter. Machine applique instructions as well as hand applique instructions are given. The choice is yours. You will enjoy her simple, clearly illustated directions as much as I did. Enjoy!

    Sunbonnet Sue Visits Quilt in a Day

    Sunbonnet Sue Quilts in a Day, by Eleanor Burns. I love it, my sister had it and I'm so glad I do too. I love everything QIAD, they are easy to read, pictures are wonderful tools. I began quilting just 4 years ago, still work full time but manage to get 3-6 quilt tops done in a month. Love it. Thank you.

    Sunbonnet Sue Visits Quilt in a Day by Eleanor Burns

    Liked the simple, easy to follow instructions. The book goes step by step in instructions. Also tells how much fabric for each size of project you are making. Shows pictures of each step and tells how much and what kind of fabric to buy. It has templates in the book. Anyone could make this by this book.

    I wasn’t expecting a book with Sunbonnet Sue AND Sam patterns and so many ideas on embellishing the block.
