Great Low Light Pictures
My opinion of this camera is really all thumbs up. It has some really great features, unique to this one model and it has a couple of down features, too. The cameral allows you to print a polaroid 600 instamatic photo, or leave it as a digital recording. I love the consistantly fine quality of clear pictures obtained digitally, even in low or dim light situations. I primarily use my camera for construction still photography, inside of dams and power plants. But, I have also captured moving animals and people in motion, both in all kinds of improper lighting situations. The camera consistantly performs well and obtains great photos. Though, it does take a half minute to come to life when turned on and it is nearly impossible to see the 2" LCD image out in the bright sunlight. One ... One noticable thing I don't like about this camera is the battery life. The camera will last for about 25-30 snap shots with flash and possibly a feedback into your computer, then you have to install 4 new AA batteries, or it goes black shortly thereafter. This camera also uses Smart Media cards that are rapidly becoming outdated technology. Another down side of this camera is the weight and size. It is a bit heavy, but it is also rugged and Oh, what wonderful pictures you can obtain anytime you simply point and click. A bit high priced for such low mega-pixels, but the pictures appear nearer to 3 mega-pixel. Keep a sharp eye out for sales, I got mine for $400, marked down from $799 at a "Best" store. I've seen NO other digitals that can capture the quality of this camera's pictures in a low light environment.

I bought the camera to get the smart media card, thinking I'd sell the camera on eBay and use the storage card for my zoom recorder. I looked the camera over, played with it, took a few pictures and: It feels good in my hands; Takes good quality pictures (for an early digital camera); Can take poloroid and digital shots at the same time. It's a fun little toy, so where'd my bargain media card go? It'll stay in my little Camedia while I have some fun and amaze myself with a great idea the design folks at Olympus came up with a few years ago...and continue my search for bargain smart media cards and hope, oh I hope, some cheap Poloroid or Fuji instant film.I bought the camera to get the smart media card, thinking I'd sell the camera on eBay and use the storage card for my zoom recorder. Good Starter Camera
Even though it is big and bulky, it takes great close up pictures. One thing I did find out is it takes great pictures in the dark with a flash. It is not only a digital camera but a instantmatic camera as well. So for those whom don't want to download a picture right then and there, they can print one instantly. Anyone starting out with a digital, I highly reccomend this camera.

Best I have used better than the newer ones
I bought this canera when the cost was over $500.00 I liked it so much I bought several more as gifts. I have five of these camera's if you plan to print a lot buy an adaptor to save battery life. Over all I give it a 10 out of 10.Buy one you'll be glad you did.

I had so much fun with mine. It would be great for a young teen. The poliroid pictures are small ones. Really fun
