French native Jean Michel Jarre is one of the leading innovators of the European electronica scene. A keyboardist and composer, Jarre started out composing ballet scores and film soundtracks. Now married to actress Charlotte Rampling, he has turned his complete attention to his revolutionary electronic operas. OXYGENE MOSCOW was filmed at a 1997 celebration in honor of Moscow's 850th birthday. Attended by nearly 4 million people, Jean Michel Jarre performed some of his music with the accompaniment of the Bolshoi Kid and Red Army Choirs. In addition to this live extravaganza, a documentary about Jarre entitled JEAN MICHEL JARRE: THE PORTRAIT is included on this video.

Great 3D experience & excellent sound!
The DVD box came with 2 disks, one with the video (3D or standard format) and one for the audio of Oxygene album version (Remastered). A cheap pair of 3D glasses also included in the box. Unfortunately the 3D experience didn't work in all screens (this is the only reason that I vote this DVD as -Good). At my screen (22'' LCD Monitor) the experience was terrible... You must have a huge screen or, for excellent results, a video projector. The audio of 5.1 is excellent, but I was expected a DTS, anyway... In general, this box is interesting, not only for collectors. You must see it & hear it. The first priority purpose is to see the analogue machines, such ARP2600, Moog Melotron, Eminent 310U, EMS VCS3, AKS e.t.c., came alive with the hands of the master of electronic music, Jean Michel ... When I decided nto add this dvd to my Jarre colection I was expecting one of the best yet concerts Of the greatest synth composer in history, not only for the fact as any fan has seen of the absolute marvelous light and music shows that Jarre executes, but been the first concert on dvd after the so desired come back of OXYGENE continuation that started this new era of music worlwide. I can only say that I totally like, enjoy, admire and like this concert,never dissapointed.Jarre is still the best.Lucky for Moscow to witness once in a lifetime an event like this.Wherever Jarre goes makes history.I recommend this dvd concert to anyone ,the fan and the new in Jean Michel Jarre's steps.You will be able to see him like in any other concert, so INTO it,you will feel just drown in the visuals and ... Jean Michel Jarre is with no doubt the best performer, composer and achiever there is now.This dvd shows it perfectly.

Jarre plays the USSR.
This is not acting. It is a documentary about a musical concert produced in USSR in the 1990s. It shows the concert and all that went into making it happen. Jarre is somewhat of a genius. He wanted to be involved in the entire process of making the concert.

The DVD recording of the concert was excellent ,very pleased with the audio content. The camera captured Jarre and his band at very good angles never staying to long on one focused area.

i have loved his music for many years,and especially his live concerts.There is a little kind of documentary about him on this dvd, so this was one of the reasons why I bought it.It is OK as well
