Local tensions are set aside for the day when the gang--including Mrs.  Murphy, Pewter, and Tucker the corgi--assembles for the reenactment of the battle of Oak Ridge.  But when the smoke finally clears, someone is lying on the ground with three very real bullets in his back.  While the clever tiger cat and her friends sift through clues that just don't fit together, more than a few locals fear that the ensuing scandal will force well-hidden secrets into the harsh light of day.     An excellent book

    I bought "Cat on the Scent" by Rita Mae and Sneaky Pie Brown because I like the way she writes. I also get a kick out of the fact that Sneaky Pie is her cat, which is a real hoot. The Mrs. Murphy mystery series is about a cat (Mrs. Murphy)and her friends, T. Tucker (a welsh corgi)and Pewter(another cat)that help their owner Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen solve a murder. This is a fun book and if you love animals it is a definite must read. I give it 5 stars.
