Look no further for an upgrade to your car stereo with Kenwood KDC-255U in-dash CD player, which also functions as an MP3 player and a USB in-dash receiver. This in-dash device can be built-in to your dashboard as long as your vehicle is compatible with the model. The front display on the unit is a fluorescent display with multicolor illumination color, and it has cool backlighting for the controls that allow you to adjust the colors to match your car’s dashboard lighting. The front-side USB port allows you to hook up an Android smartphone, iOS device, or other brand of MP3 player so you can play your favorite music. It’s great to have access to hook up accessories, but the real strength to this receiver is in its versatility. Accessories like a Bluetooth adapter are available to listen to electronics that are Bluetooth-enabled. Use the USB input to play music from your favorite high-definition radio solutions, such as SiriusXM, Pandora Internet radio, iHeart Radio, or other similar applications. Experience a boost in audio quality, including bass strength and general amplification, from the Kenwood KDC-255U CD receiver. The Kenwood car audio solution has a bass boost mode as well as controls for balance, fader, loudness, subwoofer level, and volume. It is a built-in car stereo, however, the faceplate is detachable, which makes it more secure to have in your vehicle as it does not look like there is a stereo inside. With the multiple input options, you can listen to all kinds of different sound, whether you are in the mood to listen to Pandora Internet radio or use the USB to use your MP3 device to listen to your desired audio. The device itself does not have Bluetooth, but it is compatible with Kenwood’s Bluetooth adapter. Without the Bluetooth adapter, you can still listen to wireless audio by using the remote control when your accessories are plugged in via USB input. As compared to Pioneer audio units that only have a two-band equalizer, the Kenwood units have three-band EQ and provide clear and crisp sound. You won’t need to use noise-cancelling headphones or load up on additional electronics accessories, as the Kenwood KDC-255U CD receiver sounds great on your existing car audio speakers. Fantastic Replacement for an RV Sound System
I adapted this receiver for use in my RV trailer. RV stereos are VERY pricey (at least twice what this unit costs!) and junky. It was very easy to install; the existing wires were marked with speaker locations. The included connector made it easy to remove the unit. The power is more than adequate to feed 4 speakers. The AUX input is great! It allows me to play the TV sound through the receiver (connect Headphone Out to the AUX input on the Kenwood); sound quality is very close to what it would be with a home theater system. Another great feature is the USB port. I "sync'd" (copied) existing music collection from my PC to an 8Gb USB thumbdrive. Good buy and Great Sound!
I couldn't be happier as I won my auction cheap. I replaced a factory cassette player in my old 1991 Capri convertible with it. I didn't even need a trim plate kit. The car gained ten years back, lol. I need to upgrade my speakers but it sounds great for the price. I like the adjustable colored lights which you can leave on random but I picked one of the blue ones. Another thing I like is my Android phone has a MP3 player which I can plug and play. Good sound, easy to install, but you need an idevice to play music other than CDs/Radio
This is a good receiver and CD player. We bought it to use in an off-grid cabin where the solar system provides 12v electric. It seemed silly and wasteful to use an inverter to power an AC sound system when 12v car decks are readily available. Works well, sounds great, my only complaint would be that MP3, Pandora etc only seem to work if you're runnning them on an Apple device. I would have bought the Android version had I known, and I still may if I can figure out what language Kenwood uses to describe to differentiate them. Even tried downlodaing the Kenwood music control app, but it still only has eyes for Apple.This is a good receiver and CD player. Good sound!!!!!Excellent unit
This is a great stereo; iPod functionality is great, and charges the iPod while plugged in. The AM/FM tuner is absolutely amazing (I now have around 10 more channels that I did not get with the stock stereo), and the bass boost really does a great job. The stereo's manual is well made/descriptive, and explains what every wire's job is on the included harness. Looks good and sounds good.
This unit replaced the original player in a 2001 truck. It seems to be a great replacement. You do need to read the instruction book on the features. With a Kenwood product you can't go too wrong.
