Product Information

Rid the world of evil vampires with the power of the sun and moon in Lunar Knights, a Boktai-esque melee combat and shooter game that is designed to rely on the interactive properties of the Nintendo DS. The story unfolds as two characters, Aaron and Lucien, are handed the task of saving the world from hoards of neck-sucking vampires by slaughtering them during the night in a variety of isometric dungeons. After defeating a vampire, the characters will launch into the upper atmosphere, blasting away at vampires in space to eventually expose the vanquished vampire to the unpolluted rays of the sun that ultimately purify them.

Aaron and Lucien are ruled by two different powers, and Aaron gets his strength from the light of the sun. His attacks and strength are affected by the power of the suns rays, and he attacks from a distance with firearms. Lucien is a moonchild who gathers strength for his lunar sword fighting style under the nights darkened skies. Both characters have elemental friends that affect an avatars firepower and enemies in different ways when you have collected and equipped a buddy, and the TRC meter is full.

For example, Alexander is a wind elemental and features an attack of tornadoes that you must draw on the touch screen. Lunar Knights does not require real sunlight to play, and the game runs its own day and night cycle that will alternate the current character choice. In "Casket Rocket" mode you are required to navigate your characters and blast on bad guys by utilizing the stylus.

  • Its Boktai without the solar panel

Lunar Knights is an action game where you play as two charectors who battle vampires. The two charectors vary dramatically where one uses close combat (swords) while the other uses distance weapons (guns). And as you can switch between these two charectors on the fly, you will probably favor the use of the sword as it costs no energy to use. Energy gathering is what makes this game so unique. The upper screen displays the time of day along with other weather conditions. The two charectors will rely on both the sun and moon's energy, so if you are outside or see an area where light is shining through a window, depending on your charector, you may harness the energy of the light. The energy you gather may then be used to power your weapon with various elements that you will collect ...

  • Excellent game, mediocre replayability.

I bought this game because I had enjoyed Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand for the GBA. This game is the spiritual successor of Boktai, so I thought I'd give it a go. I was not disappointed. The game makes good use of anime style cutscenes and has a unique weather system that plays well into the story. The primary frustration that I encountered was that the game seemed a little too easy at times. Also, it seemed like there was almost no penalty for getting killed, as all it does is charge you 100 or 200 Sol (the game's currency) and set you right back where you were. The boss battles were great, but sometimes too easy. I really did enjoy the space shooter style sequences that immediately followed each of the boss fights. It was a welcome addition. After completing the game there isn't a ...

  • Lunar Knights

I remember I bought my first boktai game back when the GBA SP was popular,I have a fetish with gothic games, accessories, girls, almost anything gothic. As soon as I read "Vampires" I thought of Goths so I bought it. Years after,I saw Lunar Knights, and read it's the Bokati sequel so I bought it. I really loved the game, but the only exception was that some things had nothing to do with vampires (using technology to purify vampires, not the original Piledriver and the whole Taiyoooooh thingy, the vampires themselves using technology, like Baron Stoker). The game was good,I loved the music since it had that heavy rock in it,loved the story, loved everything and I'd surely buy the next one if a next one comes out. Just add a bit more originality in it(Don't use technology that much).

  • Good old school sensibilities

Lunar knights is a good game for those of us who like their games simplistic to play with some hints of strategy. Its an action RPG thats pretty heavy on action (read: all action) but any shortcomings you have can be made up for by the old RPG standby of grinding to a point of godliness. You've got your RPG stats and elemental Strength/Weakness going on, but the combat has some real weight to it with differing techniques necessary for each weapon. Overall a good game if you're looking for an action game that isn't blisteringly fast and rewards careful, well thought out technique.

  • Excellent Game!

This game is by far my favorite DS title to date. Everything from gameplay to the cut scenes is awesome. There is a strong storyline and the replayability is very high. Once you beat the game, on top of getting prizes on the Lunar Knights website (Wallpapers and such), you also get to start the game over again with all the same weapons, items, accessories, and levels that you beat the game with! Also, a secret level opens up, as well as a boss fighting sim. The games before this (Boktai) had solar sensors on the cartridge so that you can increase the attackpower of the hero depending on how light or dark it was. For the Lunar Knights, you can insert that cartridge into the GBA slot and use that to increase the light gauge or dark gauge! That amount of integration just left me in awe. The ...
