The best water proof camera for the money, quality and easy of use rocks !!
I have shot Olympus Tough series since before they calle them that, used to just be a stylus wether resistant model the 400. I've shot most all of the tough series since my first 770sw, loved them all they were great until 2012 and the 820 hit the market, that camera has Crap video auto focus, so I got the new TG1, and it's just as bad, both of them have horrible noise when zooming in, also they can't keep a clear focus. The Pentax is GREAT I love it, I can't rave enough it's $100 less and has some nice features that I had no clue, one of my fav being the ability to shoot time lapse, so every 60 sec it can take a pict, so the link here shows you a vid I shot at 1 min each.. came out great https://www.facebook.com/v/10151332265939225 as far as shooting still it's great too!! I want to also add this camera has some nice presets for shooting pets, as it has face detection for humans, but pets too.. also has a microscope mode with led lights, I shot a fly and it's amazing how close it showed the fly, lets just say 16meg full framed fly ! can also shoot slow motion video ! I could go on and on, I did not get the GPS model as that uses extra battery and I travel to UT and Baja and don't want to worry about battery use. 40' water proof is plenty for me to scuba or snorkel !

Great for video, not really good for pictures but is a great purchase.
The best of this camera is the Video. You can shoot video under water at 1080p, or 720p 60fps and the quality is amazing. It also have a slow motion mode at 120fps, the resolution is just 640x40 at this mode but is really great. To take still pictures is not bad, but not really good. Have a lot of modes but no manual mode, so that is a big limitation to take good pictures, but still works good on outdoors pictures and underwater in sunny days. For me is much better than buy the Go pro, you have zoom, still pictures, micro mode, panoramic mode and a lot of things more, and the video quality if is not the same is better than the go pro. And you have a great LCD screen, you can see perfect the image under the water.The best of this camera is the Video. BUY one, you won't be dissapointed, one step below a GoPro.
I had another WG 2 that was recently stolen out of my car. (Yeah I know, dumb to leave it there, unlocked, in my driveway). Bought previous one for daughter to use on a trip to Cancun. AWESOME is the only adjective I can use. Takes great photos, waterproof, super pics underwater, sporting events, landscapes, portraits, etc. I've used it for many different venues, and used many of the different options, i.e. sport, rapid fire, landscape, panoramic. In short, this camera does it all in a compact, rugged and efficient manner. If you can snag one of these for a decent price you WON'T be disappointed. i love this camera. great features.
