    The Steampunk Bible: Getting Along in an Alternative Victorian Age

    If you follow steampunk you NEED this book. Jeff Vander Meer is one of the greatest SP short story/articles/anthology editors and his SP bible encompasses the entire hobby/lifestyle. It is very readable, with short sections and terrific illustrations. The pictures are part historical reprints, part the present, plus pix of the leaders in the genre. It even has a full page portrait of my favourite SP author, Gail Carriger, in full SP costume. What more could I want! So, if you heard about SP and are curious to know what it is about, or, if you are already a SPer and want to further your knowledge, get a copy of The Steampunk Bible and enjoy. You'll have to excuse me, now, as my dirigible is waiting and I need to get my top hat and goggles. - terryavalon

    Grab your goggles and fasten your airship belt: today we go Steampunk!

    I bought this book to clear up some finer points regarding the Steamapunk movement...to settle a few arguements so to speak. I really wasn't aware of all the details regarding Steampunk and IMHO, this book sets everything straight from garment styles to S.P. music. It's ALL there! I would say it's a must have for the week end convention goer to the hardcore S.P lifestyle followers. Even the Steampunk curious would enjoy this book as the price is nominal and it is a high quality book, photo illustrated throughout. I would certainly buy it again if I didn't have it and actually got to see it prior to purchase. Steampunk is many things to many people but all agree that it's a fun way to reject the mundane ordinary world and live in an alternate reality. Nothing wrong with a good case of split ...
