One of computer gaming's biggest titles makes its return with the release of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The classic story, which had players guiding a young prince through a trap-filled palace to save his beloved from marrying an evil vizier, has been updated with 3D graphics and new traps and puzzles. The story begins with the titular prince tricked by a vizier into using a mystical dagger to release the Sands of Time from an hourglass. With the help of an ally, players must right this wrong by recapturing the Sands of Time before the deceitful vizier can harness its power.<br><br>As players explore each room, from an ornate reception hall to an underground foundry, they will be able to perform a number of acrobatic moves to protect them from harm. As in previous games, cinematic cut-scenes help tell the story as the prince overcomes a number of deadly traps and enemies lurking inside the Persian palace. Developer Ubi Soft Montreal, best known for its work on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, has worked closely with the original game's creator Jordan Mechner for this new tale in the Prince of Persia series.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (SoT)
Prince of persia is a game chain that started back in the days of 8 bit and was just recently revived with this game done by Ubisoft (who went on to make it a trilogy -- Warrior Within and The Two Thrones are the other 2 games). The story line for SoT was probably the best one from any of the new PoP titles. It was intresting and always had you moving on your feet. The puzzles were great and the battles were usually fun (though they got a little redundent), and the voices were perfect in the game. One of the coolest things about the game was the Sand that the game was based around. Collecting these sand clouds gave you the power to rewind time in order to correct a mistake you made. However all games have a downfall: this one was far too easy. I easily blew through the game in 8 ... One cool feature of playing on hard is that you get to unlock the original PoP and play that to see where it all really started! Of all three games produced by Ubisoft, this is probably the second best, because it sets up an awesome story, and even though easy, it was very very fun. The weakest of the three is the second one, which lacked story but had imporved on the combat. In my opinion only, the thrid installment was the best of the three. This game is more than worth it if you're looking for a good puzzler/beat em up game.

I have to say when I played the first 30min of th game I wasn't overall too impressed. As a matter of fact at that point I would have rated it a 7.5 out of 10. After that I didn't touch the game for about 2 months, and then last week I popped it back in. After the "tutorial" area, the game starts shining. As you learn more moves, and you see new setups that can use the new arsenal of moves on, things get interesting. You can run on walls, run up walls, run up walls do a jump off of the wall, etc.... The graphics on the game are good, but not great. The character graphics are just ok, but the environment is nice, and at points plain beautiful. The FMVs are also good quality. I like the fact also that you can play it on 480p. The game looks much better on my LCD TV on 480p. As for enemies ... I mean fighting 6-8 different types of enemies excluding bosses through an entire game, with a limited number of things you can do is just very boring. As for the sound the voice acting is very good. The background music is good. And the sounds are Ok. As for value I think this game is a game you may end up playing more than once. It's definitely very fun. And add to that the Easter Egg of having Prince of Persia the original game in there, and you have a great game with decent replayability, and an extra game which sum up for a good value overall. Anyway I recommend this game. It's very good, and with a few tweaks it could have been perfect. At this point in time I liked the game enough to prompt me to go buy the two sequels :)

Fun and addictive
Really fun and a addictive game. Playing the acrobatic Prince of Persia and traveling with a beautiful princess companion is fun. The fighting sequences are fun also especially when you get the main weapon of the game. Just one problem: getting stuck on levels. If you're not an expert gamer you could be stuck on a level for hours trying to get to other levels. The one thing that makes this tolerable is that the main weapon in the game rewinds time, so you have plenty of chances to correct mistakes. Great game!
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time definitely exceeds my expectations. Not only are the graphics and detail in this game stunning, but it also has a great adventure storyline, though I must warn you that practically throughout the whole game, this very annoying "Princess" will follow you. But don't worry, just run far a head of her, so when she starts talking you cut her off. Fighting in this game is also a lot of fun, but kind of easy, which is a good thing also. After you get the special dagger, the game starts getting better, you'll need it to stab enemies after combat to finish them off, you'll get a special abillity which lets you kill all the enimies in a room in seconds. Swinging from spikes hanging from a roof, flipping from pole to pole, to running along walls, this game keeps you ... Prince of Persia: Sands of Time definitely exceeds my expectations.
