Inspired by Nickelodeon's hit cartoon series, SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge is a single player, multi-level adventure game starring SpongeBob as he embarks on a mission to serve the Bikini Bottom super-duo Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. In an attempt to give Patrick Star the greatest birthday gift ever, SpongeBob sets out to get autographs from their beloved heroes, but before they'll sign, he must complete a series of tasks spanning 20 levels.<br><br>Obstructed by the challenges of sea life and underwater bad guys, SpongeBob begins his journey through Bikini Bottom with only a jellyfishing net to aid in his defense. Each of the five chapters is composed of four stages, with a golden spatula power-up serving as SpongeBob's life source and underpants giving extra lives. Seanut butter, jelly, bread, and teeth are just some of the items SpongeBob must locate to win the autographs. Characters such as the Mother Jellyfish and Flying Dutchman are but a couple of the bosses that need defeating at the end of every chapter.<br><br>SpongeBob's final assignment is to locate items needed to fix the broken TV at Shady Shoals Rest Home. Upon defeating the final boss, players can access a bonus level if they collect a certain percentage of golden spatulas from each chapter. Other characters SpongeBob will encounter include Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and Gary.

    Spongebob Squarepants Video Game Makes Me a Hero

    My son wants to play video games with the big boys (his cousins) and his daddy but he is only 4 so I gave him our old Playstation and some of the simple games. He is Spongebob crazy so I bought him this game and he loves it. It is easy enough for him to play himself quite a bit. I was surprised at how well he can play. I find a lot of it very easy but there are some parts that are a little difficult for me until I figure it out - however, I don't play video games and am not up on this stuff. Since I am not big on his being a TV or video junkie, when he gets tired of the learning activities with mommy and wants to watch TV, at least this is something he can do that is interactive that requires coordination, motor skills, etc. rather than just staring. And this includes the characters ...

    SpongeBob SquarePants: Super Sponge (Playstation)

    I bought this game for my 4 year old daughter who is absolutely obsessed with Spongebob Squarepants. She's starting to show an interest in computer games but we'd rather not have her messing with our computer just yet. I was hoping that she could play this game independently but we're not quite there yet. This game would probably be better for an older child, however, she does enjoy watching others play it. The graphics are pretty good, at least what you would expect for a Playstation 1 game. It has all the characters from the show which my daughter really likes and the gameplay is very simple in that you pretty much just have to move the character back and forth, jump, and swing a net. All in all a great game and one that my daughter will surely enjoy in the next few years!

    Great title

    This is a great game that i cant believe i got for so cheep. The disk was almost immaculate, and the gameplay may not be the best ever, but it is one of my favourite ps1 titles. Thank you

    Spongebob Squarepants: Supersponge PS

    I bought this game for my grandchildren, they love anything to do with spongebob squarepants. I am giving it to them for Christmas. I played the game myself to make sure of the violence levels etc. and found it totally acceptable. I know they will have a lot of fun with it. Also, I know it was just difficult enough to keep them playing, but not so difficult that they can't win the game. I would recommend it for other children too.
