Best ZJ Grand Cherokee Upgrade Ever!
I fought the notorious belt squeal on my 1995 zj for over a year with no sucess. I knew my stock mount must have been bad because my power steering pully was crooked compared to the rest of the pullys. The mount works very well, however it took some extra effort to make it work on my 1995 Grand Cherokee. I pretty sure this billet mount was made to replace 96-98 zj mounts. It brings the whole power steering pump upwards about 3/8". This is no big deal and the serpentine belt still fits snug as a bug. The difficulty I had was with the pully allignment. I had to place a few washers behind each of the three bracket mounting bolts to bring the pullys into allignment. I also shaved down the top driver side bolt head because it was contacting the back of the pump. I think this billet bracket ... I fought the notorious belt squeal on my 1995 zj for over a year with no sucess. Excellent Part!
Like so many others, I chased the serpentine belt squeel on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5.8 V8. Turns out the stock power steering pump mounting bracket had broken into 3 chunks. This machined aluminum replacement piece fit PERFECTLY, and brought all of my pulleys back into alignment (no more squeel). It is clearly heavier duty than the original, and it's also less expensive than the upgraded cast bracket available from other parts dealers... So this was a great value! I'm very happy. I had my concerns, but the part is excellent!
My ride is a 1996 grand Cherokee with the 5.2ltr (318ci) engine. I drove in bewilderment of the serpentine belt squeal for tens of thousands of miles trying to mask with belt sprays, replacement serpentine belts, adjust the pulley alignment by installing washers.. It was ridiculous! Finally, I noticed the steering pump pulley misalignment became obvious. By this time, the original bracket was in pieces and finally gave up completely after about 220,000ish miles. I was apprehensive when purchasing this part for a number of reasons but after installing and running about 10,000 miles, I think it's good to go. Having a pretty extensive mechanical background in auto and aircraft, I like that the part is milled from billet aluminum and the engineering of the part provides perfect alignment. That ... Improved quality parts for your Jeep
The previous mopar bracket broke in two places. I replaced it with a new OEM bracket and then I saw this. This is sturdier, cheaper and works. I did not have to modify anything on my 1997 JGC. I now have a spare Mopar bracket which I hope I will never need. At the same time I also replaced the pulley with one made in Canada which is all METAL unlike the OEM which is partly plastic. I recommend both improvements if you do not want to be left stranded and have your vehicle towed. The previous mopar bracket broke in two places. Amazing product!
We recently had a power steering pump bracket go bad on our 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Then we found out they no long make a replacement. Lucky for us Cre8it makes one. The price was unbelievably fair, actually too low for what he's offering, and the quality was top notch. We could not be happier. This bracket should outlast us all. Very heavy duty and it fit like a glove. Absolutely no problems installing it. Thank you for an awesome made in America product. Its rare to find anything made as well as this bracket was these days.
