A Collector's Item in the Making
I was skeptical when i saw the box. "We don't need to turn the wii-motes into a gun. How good can the pack-in be?" But then I had second thoughts and bought it. We've been playing it all night. I was a Duck Hunt fan and the rail shooting levels are fantastic - like the first time you played Mrs. PacMan after being a PacMan fan but so much better. There's a mix of scrolling, rail and 1st person shooting levels set in the Twilight Princess world that can be played in order or on their own. If you get a Wii for the holidays, pick this up as well. I can tell there's no point in even taking the wii-mote out of the zapper. The family will be playing this just about everyday, despite our having about a dozen other Wii titles. My 3 year old was delighted when she beat my high score. In my defense it would have been higher but I hit a live chicken. My 8 year old informed me "Mom! You can't shoot LIVE things!!!" Who knew? It was so much fun blasting the fruit balloons.... and the skeletons.... I'd defend my record, but my husband and brother have been playing for the last four hours and I can't get near it. Well worth the $20 - if they'd sold the game alone I would have paid more.

Fun But Tricky Little Chipmunk Game
Alvin & the Chipmunks is a rhythm game that tries to drive you insane quickly but is fun for the whole family. You will need both a wii-mote & the nunchuck to play single player, and an extra pair for head to head. In story mode, each stage has the chipmunks playing 3 songs which must be played though to advance to the next locale. Rhythm 'stars' flow out from the center of the screen to one of the four corners where a larger star waits as the precision point. If the stars flow to one of the bottom corners you will swing the remotes, if they go to the top you will hold 'b' & swing for right stars and 'z' and swing for left. Miss too many in a row the song ends, but the more you hit perfectly the more combo points you rack up which will unlock new stages and bonus songs. This seemed easy enough for me, I mean it's a chipmunk game geared towards kids right? I'm 30 and pretty good at rhythm games but was surprised at the challenge of this game. Don't get me wrong, this is a very fun game once you give it like an hour to sink in you can open new stages with ease which will give you more songs to play, but to master the tracks is a bigger task. The rhythm stars aren't perfect mapped to the beat IMHO. At times they do follow the beat, though they go freestyle a lot of the time reversing patterns and generally trying to frustrate you. This is not a bad thing at all as it's fast pacing will keep players on their toes and their pulse racing. You can play thru the game in Easy, Med or Hard mode with Easy focusing on just the swinging motion of the remotes which still holds a challenge for experienced rhythm gamers yet is passable and fun for my 4 year old that has never played a rhythm game. I think this games a blast and has definite replay value. The soundtrack is filled with pop favorites that most people will recognize from commercials, pop radio & tv shows(Friends) as well as the Chipmunks own Christmas hit all performed by the Chipmunks! If you're looking for a fun but still challenging alternative to Guitar Hero then this is it. The songs are clean & fun and the game play is great for all ages. I did have to take off one star because of the cutscenes in between the game levels. The audio of the conversations between Dave & the Chipmunks is horrible and scratchy but is easily bypassed by pressing the A button. Again it's just the cutscenes, Not the songs in gameplay. Those are A+.

Spiderpig Spiderpig..
Spiderpig, Spiderpig, Does whatever a spiderpig does Can he swing from a web? No he can't, he's a pig. Look out! He is a Spiderpig! If there are any kids in your neighborhood, you already know this little song by heart, and if not, let me warn you that once you hear it, it's stuck in your head FOREVER. Cockroaches may become extinct, Pampers may degrade into mulch, Paris Hilton may be forgotten, but this tune will live on. The movie contains the normal Simpsons type violence, cartoon nudity and some jokes that will go over the heads of younger kids, but I've seen seven and eight year olds cracking up with laughter anyway - and yes, singing the Spiderpig song over and over again. In a nutshell, the good folk of Springfield (except Lisa and a new kid in town named Colin) care diddlysquat about the environment and as a result of careless dumping of waste materials, Lake Springfield becomes a toxic bog. A vision predicting certain disaster is ignored by all but Marge, and the pollution continues. Homer meanwhile adopts a pig from a Krusty Burger commercial, and when the pig becomes a family member, Bart starts looking for a new father figure. Pigs however will be pigs, and the silo that Homer has been using for manure collection quickly starts overflowing. The problems then really get started when Homer is forced to get rid of the stinky stuff, and the Environmental Protection Agency moves in to take care of the situation, albeit with the not-quite-carefully considered approval of President Schwarzenegger. Draconian measures soon become desperate measures, and of course it's up to The Simpsons to save the town, even though they have become public enemies numbers one through five. Essentially an episode stretched into a movie covering family relationships, religion, politics, environmental issues and of course Spiderpig, this one is not only for Simpsons fans, but for lovers of cartoons, slapstick humor and satire. Go see this movie for the Simpsons - leave it remembering the pig.
