À propos de ce produit

Product Information

A small tendril of smoke rose from the torch down the hall as it suddenly extinguished. Slipping his bow and remaining water arrows into the quiver on his back, he melted into the ebony darkness which enveloped the hallway.<br><br>"Eh?" the startled guard ahead exclaimed in a gruff voice. Chainmail clinking together, he turned quickly and surveyed the hallway behind him. Pausing for a second, he intently studied the shadows, his eyes passing completely over the hidden form. Shaking his head, he turned around and muttered to himself.<br><br>"Damned cheap torches. The third one tonight! We could have taffers crawling through this place. I should've joined the army!"<br><br>Garrett began breathing again as the guard paced away, continuing his patrol. Emerging from the shadows, he drew a small blunt club from the volumptious folds on his black cloak in one fluid motion. Soft-soled shoes hugging the opulent carpet, Garrett rushed towards the man with the ferocity and dexterity of a hunting cat. With a single blow to the base of the neck, the guard crumpled into a silent heap.<br><br>With a successful nod, Garrett shifted the pack full of loot from the house and made his way towards an open window, curtains blowing in the warm summer air. <br><br>A clean job. The best kind. 'Tis the life of a thief.<br><br>Welcome to the world of Garrett, a thief trained from his childhood by a secret underground society, and a man who single-handedly has stopped both the undead and The Trickster, a god.<br><br>This time around, a year after the original Thief, Garrett finds himself in a town rife with people opposed to his trade. A new sheriff is in town, and is fed up with thievery. The fanatical religious Hammerites are still around, and practicing the trade is now a risky business.<br><br>While it would be possible to dilvuge some of the storyline, it truly would ruin the surprises. Suffice to know that this time around, thieving is much more difficult for Garrett. The storyline is very well done and unfolds through missionn objectives. Looking Glass has taken great pains to make Thief II: The Metal Age a title that draws you into the role of Garrett.<br><br>Thief II: The Metal Age continues in the spirit of Thief: The Dark Project in that the point is to remain hidden, and in many mission, to not kill anyone. This delivers a truly interesting and innovating aspect to the first-person shooter genre. <br><br>AI in Thief II is improved over the first title and offers some innovative features. There is not just one type of guard - some have been drinking, some are sleepy, and some are razor-sharp and on edge. The most interesting people you'll encounter are both the robots and the children. If a child hears you pass by, rest assured that they will not let you pass without investigating!<br><br>The engine in Thief II: The Metal Age and the interface will be recognizable by fans of the first title as not much has changed. However, the improved AI, much different mission goals, and the new types of people you'll come across surely offer enough innovation.<br><br>New tools of the trade include Garrett's mechanical eye which allows you to zoom in and out, a potion which allows you to float to the ground like a feather, and a spy-orb which acts like a remote control camera. The convential tools from the first installment are all found here.<br><br>If you're looking for a title which breaks away from the "see-'em, shoot-'em" first person games, Thief II: The Metal Age offers a different experience.

  • A step foward in graphics and sound

The original had a better story I thought. But they did improve the gameplay, graphics, sound and they made the bad guys a little smarter. Listening to the ai conversate and talk to themselves is hilarious the script can be very funny! A great little world to escape into, its the type of game you play with some nice headphones in the dark, and stay up all night with. The affect of sound is what sets this game apart I think from most. You realy get the feeling someone is coming closer, and it can be nerve racking hearing a guard on patrol mumbling to him self louder and louder, when your trying to hide in the shadows unnoticed. But that what makes it so fun. Personaly I didn't care for all the robots and ghosts, I like the levels with just regular people better. But thats just me. If you ...

  • The Best Game Ever Made

Recently I purchased Thief 2: The Metal Age...NOT because this was delving into uncharted territory. I have been a fan of the Thief series since the first one hit the shelves but Thief 2 is my favorite. You may ask "Why?" Because like me, there are multitudes of Thief fans who keep the game going long after you've played the purchased game and the final credits roll. They develop fan missions and provide free downloads. Some are amateurish, but the majority are even better than the actual game and I'm not taffing with you! If you think you would enjoy taffing, then grab the game and give it a try. Be prepared to watch out for guards, ghosts, ghouls, zombies, spiders, and traps. Try to find the hidden objects and get all the loot. Play on Basic Taffer, Medium, So You Think, or REAL ...

  • One of the Great's.

Some games just go down in history as "One of the Great Ones", Thief 2- The Metal Age is one of these games. This game is a mix of art and game-play in a way that very few games have ever been able to pull off. This game is a bit trick to get playing, it won't work on your new PC if you have up to date graphics drivers on a newer card. It's just not going to happen. However, if you do have a PC that can play this game then you are almost OBLIGATED to play this game. SOME of the solid points of this game are; the Story is very compelling, the atmosphere of the game universe is DEEP and AMAZING, the game-play is very fun and comfortable, the levels are huge and imaginative, and even the AI is very good for it's time. If you've played Thief: Deadly Shadows and were left with the feeling ...

  • Thief II

This game is excellent. If you have played the first Thief game you will not be disappointed. The great thing about this game is that it is not just a normal first person shooter game where you basically run through and kill all the bad guys. Instead, this game forces you to think and not just run through the bad guys. I also like this game because it doesn't really have any cheat codes so you have to work through each level on your own. I play a lot of first person shooters such as Wolfenstein, Doom, and Half-Life but to be honest I think I really like this game better than the others. This game is a great challenge and worth buying. Trust me as soon as I get my money gathered up I am going to buy Thief III the last in the series.

  • Thief 2 the metal age

Few games set the standards for other games let alone a genre. The thief series is the first and still the best dark engine stealth game to date. Unlike splinter cell with its rigid level design there are almost always very open end levels with different means on entry and objectives to success. Besides who dosent want to have the thrill of nabbing every bit of gold not seen laying around. Though the graphics and the AI might be a little out of date the game makes up for it in gameplay and story. A must have.
