The Quintessential SciFi Novel

One of the best books I have ever read. One of the book's strongest points is it's non SciFi centric storyline. Yes, the story takes place in the future, but the book is much more about its characters and humanity in general than gadgets and gizmos. Soon to be a major motion picture.

Hold onto this almost disposable Canon.

Canon's ELPH line is second to none for point and shoots. The SD300 is no exception * Very quick power-on to shoot time. * Quick image writes for less time between shots. * Excellent manual controls. * Slim size that easily fits into pocket. * Great quality macro mode. * Affordable price (Around $170 at the time of this writing) Drawbacks * Not quite sensitive enough to make excellent night shots, but with a steady hand is okay. * LCD gets scratched up quickly. * Battery life could be a little better. * Red eye can be a problem with flash not set to red eye reduction mode. * Does not come with a carrying case. I like that the camera is relatively inexpensive. I was about ready to buy a Digital Rebel XT, but opted for this because I saw how great the photos came out with this thing.

Terrible brake pad noise

Unlike OEM, these are not silent. They make a constant whirring sound that gets worse with application. Check out the Amazon reviews and see that other people say the same thing. Would not buy.
