Hikari Frosted Halogen T3 Lighting for reading, picture illumination and wall sconces.
The "frosted" (etched) glass used in these halogen bulbs provides a softer, more pleasing diffuse light with less glare/shadows compared to the clear transparent glass capsule versions. Easier to read by, nice for illuminating objects and good for sconces/washing walls with light.
I've used Hikari halogen bulbs for many years and consider it to be high quality lighting. I've found that the 130 volt design of these bulbs helps them better withstand subtle mains voltage transients, which translates into longer life.
Of course, incandescent and halogen bulbs are gradually being phased out in favor of LED lighting, which is significantly more energy efficient. As of this writing (Nov 2019), I have converted 75% of my home lighting to soft (2700K) LED, but will continue to use soft frosted halogen and incandescent where the light color requirement is crucial.

Shore A Durometer
Hello -
Just a quick note to other materials scientists/engineers that I have purchased both Durometer A and Durometer D digital hardness gauges from this eBay source and have used both instruments continuously for a month. They are exceptional good quality and I am very pleased. I purchased these as "throw away" items for some material testing I was performing, but these durometer gauges are keepers. In fact, I have sent them out for QA calibration, which will cost me more than the gauges !!
