Wasn't an Easy Fit.!! Mirror Plate was Large..!!

I Have a 1990 Chevy G20 Standard Cargo Van , Converted to a Family Excursion Van. It has the Standard Stainless Steel Housing / Swing type Mirrors. The Mirror Plateon My Van is Straight on the Larger Side( Nearest the Steering Wheel, on the Driver's Side. The Mirror Plate I received is Bulged Out....(Pregnant )- on the Larger Side. I had to Use Vise Grips to Carefully bulge out the Stainless Housing to Accomodate the Mirror. Otherwise...the Mirror would not Fit into the Housing. This is the 9 5/8" Mirror Plate.Which I carefully cleaned the Cracked old Mirror, Glued the Cracks, and Placed the Double Stick Tape which came with the Mirror... The Project was a Total Success..!! The Swing Out Mirror is Just Like New Now.....I Dont Know Why The Mfg. Co. would Make the Replacement Mirror Plate Sooo Oversize ( Around The Sides...). BillinL.A. 11-25-2019.
