WV8046 Water Valve for 4318046 2188542 Whirlpool Kenmore Refrigerator Icemaker

Failed after two days.

Used this as a replacement for my original water valve in my KitchenAid refer (OEM part no longer available). The second night after installing it, I was about to fall asleep when I heard water running. Ran up to find the in-door water dispenser running wide open. Somehow, the rubber sealing washer had slipped out of position and was letting water flow. Lucky I was home and not yet asleep when it failed. Was able to use the "pistons" out of this assembly to repair the original KitchenAid valve (which seems to be a much better design).

Fuel screw does not fit.

I purchased this kit because I needed the float bowl o-ring and I wanted to add the extended fuel screw. For not much more than the cost of these items individually, I was able to purchase the entire kit. Unfortunately, the extended fuel screw doesn't work on the Keihin FCR carburetor that comes on the DRZ400E/K. (Should work on the "MX" FCR carb.) Still not a bad value if you need more pieces out of the kit but you'll have to order a remote fuel screw or modify the one that comes with this kit. (The passage for the screw has to be drilled out a bit and I had to grind the knurles off the extended fuel screw). AllBalls did sent another STOCK fuel screw when I contacted them but that's not what I ordered/paid for. Their packaging clearly states the kit is for the non-California DRZ400E/K.

41T sprocket.

Heavier than the stock AL sprocket but much less expensive and should wear well. Good fit and quality. 15T - 41T gearing for road/highway on my DRZ400E. Tall gearing but I think it will be OK.
