Great to do business with!
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. Kenwood has always been my go-to choice for good radios that are easy to use, easy to program, and well designed. The audio is always great,a nd the radios are as solid as a brick. They have the performance of a Motorola, without the price and the headaches to program.
I just purchased another TK-290 from BlueSkyRanch - this makes the third handheld radio plus about 3-4 other Kenwood mobile radios I've bought from him, and all have been quickly chipped and well packaged. Ron is great about answering questions, and he always can add extras that I want, such as an accessory port cover or a speaker/microphone at a very reasonable price.
Would I buy another Kenwood? YES
Would I buy from BlueSkyRanch again? YES!

Hubbell - Always Good!
Hubbell is my standard for cable connectors - their quality is first rate, and I've never had a problem torquing the terminal screws as required - some other brands can't be torques without stripping the threads. I haven't bought a competitor's product in many years, and I don't intend to!

Normandy Landings, from a Naval Salvage Master's Viewpoint
If you're an Ellsberg fan, or a naval historian, this book makes for compelling reading. Ellsberg served as a salvage master throughout WWII, primarily in the Mediterranean. His expertise was used during the preparations for and during the Normandy landings.
Though his writing can be a little ponderous at times, he tells of the naval part in the landings very well, and I had been totally unaware of many of the landing's problems that he brought out in his book.
For more information on his part in the Mediterranean theater, read "Under The Red Sea Sun", and it's sequel "No Banners, No Bugles".
