sound quality is GREAT. Miss the am band
Enjoy the STR-DN 1080. sound quality is amazing. i I am using Klipsh speakers and can hear details I never heard before. wish I had a written manual to really learn all of it's features. As the receiver does not have an AM band I have learned to use the blue tooth feature to get my stations. Someone that listens to a lot of sports would be disapointed. overall I am very satisfied with this unit.

No internet required. Movies anytime!
although today is all about streaming movies, to me there is nothig better than having a movie on disc to watch at any time. and, you don,t have to pay every time you want to watch. the quality of the picture is 1080i and that quality suits me fine. can,t understand why Sony stopped making them. The DVP995 works flawlessly and the main reason i purchased it is, no more scratched or lost DVDs or CDs. OH yeah, it,s great for music too!
