It wasn't supposed to be for gaming.....

I'm starting a business where I will be 3d scanning on the road, so I needed a machine with a robust video card. Belive it or not the gaming models actually support scanning software a bit better than workstation cards. ie. Quadro. So upon receiving this laptop, the first thing I did was installed Cura, Horus, and Skanect right? Wrong... I put Doom 2016 on it and cranked the settings to Ultra. So far I've found that it's not quite up to par with its desktop counterpart. I have a gtx 980 with 4 gigs in my desktop with ddr 3 in it and a much older processor. The desktop can handle Doom at 1920 with ease, doesn't even Rev up the fans. The laptop lost framrate and had a bit of jerkiness to it. I do understand that the gtx "M" models are somewhat cut down, I expected a little more out of it with the i7 and the DDR4. If I had to do it again I would have spent another 200 bucks on a machine with a 1060 with a dedicated card in it. This is nothing on MSI however, they make a nice tight machine with good features and good fit and finish. I have had an Asus laptop before and had a lot of trouble with it so I switched to the other team.

Good little mouse

It has decent range, good battery life. Is constructed well. It's very light in the hand even with batteries, which depending on the person can be a good or bad thing.
