Affordable iPhone

Apple's iPhone 3G is a good choice in a "smart phone." It's a bit like having a mini-computer in your pocket. calls, IMs, camera, internet and more await. With the introduction of the i4, the 3G and 3Gs models are becoming more affordable. If you live in a rural area, as do I, then the 3G is adequate for data as you will be on AT&T's Edge network; 3g nets not being readily available outside of urban areas. (For that matter, an iPhone 2g would work just as well. The downside to the phone is battery life. These phones are energy hogs so be sure to recharge often; especially if you plan to surf the net or play videos.

A Nice Alternative for GoPhone Users

Like many, I used a pre-paid phone plan but am not particularly impressed with the "low end" phones usually marketed to our crowd. I bought the Motorola Motorokr Z6 because it has the features I wanted without strapping my budget. MP3 player with removable 2GB Sandisc memory for many hours of portable music. Phone supports wireless headphones like the motorola S9 bluetooth set. Generally compatible with all bluetooth units. Battery life is good. ease of use is there. Slider design keeps keys from being accidentally pressed while in a pocket or purse. other features include camera and video functions, web access, games, customizable menus; really too much to list here. Also; if image is a concern, this device doesn't shout "GoPhone!" the minute you take it out of your pocket. ;^)
