Great option for older Mac Pro upgrade.

I replaced the original processors on my Mac Pro 1,1 with a set of these in early 2015, which was not difficult or risky using the excellent videos on YT. In about an hour I went from four cores to eight and I was able to upgrade my OS from 10.6.8 to Mavericks. The eight cores run on average about 10 degrees warmer than the original four cores; not a big deal but I'll be looking at some options to cool more efficiently. The performance boost has been spectacular. Great investment especially since used sets are very inexpensive now.

Gotta Have It
The only way to buy Thule parts (and there are always more of them required than you think!) is eBay. Can be tricky to install but go slow and read the directions in advance, completely! Excellent quality.
